Bairstow, imho, is a better keeper than many give him credit for. Sure, he's dropped a few. But he's taken far far many more as well. It would be interesting to see what percentage he has. And compare it with others. Right now, the discussion seems to be about YJB (what does that mean anyway...

Are we really surprised about deliveries being bowled around the wicket, crossing enough to miss all three stumps? I find the commentary quite weird..... Has Shane Warne never played cricket or what? One doesn't need too much math knowledge to understand just a bit of lateral movement is enough...

Couldn't agree more. Yet, I wouldn't be too surprised if Woakes actually will come through as a bowler in the forseeable future (as in picked on bowling alone).

Woakes' FC & Test batting averages are not too bad. His FC avarage is better than Stokes'. So, after giving it some thought, I come to the conclusion your suggestion is not as rediculous as it appears to be. Still ridiculous though. If Finn, Broad, Anderson & Stokes are fit, Woakes can...

Despite being dropped on 11, and that dodgy LBW survival, I like the idea Jonny made it to the honours board of Lord's today.

Yeah, that has to be the one! Ponting's wicket coming from the 7th ball gives it a bit extra, I guess.

As Rossouw is a proper Dutch name, it is by definition a cool name. Obviously, Sri Lankans with proper Dutch names are even better!

The Do's and Dont's of watching a Test live at the ground

On the lag: about a fortnight when using a smartphone. Utterly useless. I've once bought a device at Lord's. It has a switch, so you can choose between local/ground FM or TMS longwave (5live). That's stuck on 192 kHz. Faire enough, as it simply works ok in The Hague (which is the same distance...

Am I losing it? I'd swear Rod Tucker was the 3rd umpire, but he's on the field now....

Now officially better than Tendulkar. Hence better than Bradman  .

To be fair to him: he didn't get out smashing through the line or edging a wild waft.

He has picked up his last 50 wickets under 20 runs a piece. And he's nearly 34. Many times I've felt Jimmy was not meant to be in lists with McGrath, Ambrose, Walsh, Hadlee, Marshall, whomever you think is up there. Just not that cathegory. But he has been in god mode for the last 2 years, not?
