I can see that. From my neutral perspective, the tourists being ahead at this stage, seems better than the other way around.

Because they can, in alien coditions, trouble the number one team? I find that quite likable!

JImmy, if fit and clicking, is a bonus for England imho. I have no clue how fit he is and whether his pace is up to standard. My guess is that the England managemnt have a fair idea on how he does in the nets. The 'Woakes has a bowler's niggle" suggests Jimmy is in, and Woakes is out.

To add something on the toss debate: If we assume winning the toss (and batting first / not having to bat on day 5 in the 4th innings) is a very big advantage, if only for the sake of arguement, it is still safe to conclude it wasn't as much so in the recently concluded test. Especially...

***Official*** Australia in South Africa + South Africa in Australia 2016/17

There is something I simply do not understand. We can discuss for hours on possible changes in the Aussie line-up, but that is, imho, not the point. Why haven't these batsmen scored more runs? This lot, no matter how good or bad they are, should be able to do better, not? I've watched the last...

If Australia can actually reach 440 in the 3rd innings, 200 in the 4th doesn't seem too hard. Having said that, I don't think the Aussies will get to 440.

It's far more authoritative to have the beastly attitude of not being fussed by negotiating another over or 2!

If India are 8 or 9 down at the conclusion of this match, that doesn't say one thing about the declaration being conservative or not. England were scoring runs quite freely in their 2nd dig. All three wickets fell due to the batsmen trying to speed things up and not being selfish.

Possibly. But I'm sure it doesn't bear too much relevance :) .

I remember I was impressed by Root's bowling in India 4 years ago. Albeit in the ODI series (I think) .

There is massive grey area between leaving and playing. Not sure if this makes sense, but it was surely closer to a shot than to a leave.

    Which is more annoying?

Going to bed at 8:30, setting the alarm at 12:30, just to find out there is rain..........

Things like this always make me wonder why umpires don't call for the video umpire themselves. Like they do with run outs. Digging in my memory....... I think I remember Rudi Koertzen sending LBW-decisions upstairs during that horrendous 20-20-for-20 involving that American criminal.

Oh dear! That was quite a bit outside leg! Any umpire should pick that up! As should Murali Vijay!

Diving forward to the ground is never making a catch easier. He should have stepped forward! Anyway, too bad for the match.

Actually, short hair doesn't look darker, it really is. Longer exposure to light does make dark blond hair shift to light blond a bit.
