Wisden names All Time World XI

Well I don't think I am overinfluenced by him, he is remarkably still alive and he has never missed the cricket so he has seen them all play ever since then. I reckon he has a right to an opinion at 95 years of age..... what do you reckon ?

Cricket moments you're not proud of

LOL, I doubt it but if I am.. sorry Deano old chap. :)

You know what really grinds my cricketing gears?

What really grinds my gears also is batsman who snick the ball to the keeper or in the case of Lara to a slipsfieldsman and then doesn't walk, it's one thing to stay if the batsman isn't sure what happened but when they even lie to themselves I get angry, even if its an Aussie that does it...

You know what really grinds my cricketing gears?

What really grinds my gears is when test batsmen get out for 199 a day after Lara gets 200...... OH WHY STEVE,..... WHYYYYYYYYY ??.... 199..... Still the biggest disappointing moment I remember, he had played so well up to that point.

Cricket moments you're not proud of

Your lucky, on one occasion I played a rash shot and the captain busted up the change room before I got there, perhaps it was the smile on my face as I got out. It was hilarious cos I was at number 10 in the line up and we had tons of runs still to get, but I warned him, I told him I was a great...

Cricket moments you're not proud of

My funniest moment to me was a game where I was really pissed off at the captain and I decided to go on a fielding strike, when he yelled at me, "aren't you going to stop that ball" I told him I wanted to see him get it, Well at the time I found it hilarious, I was the only bloke not under 22 in...

Cricket moments you're not proud of

My batting sucked, so I would say any of my innings would do but I never had a single coaching lesson in my life, I lived way out in the outback. I also had a problem with some of my captains because there was always a small clique in every team and these captains followed their opinion only and...

*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Hooray Australia, we won and that is what matters, I'll be happy if we draw the next two games, very happy. We need to win the Ashes now because we don't have many who are good playing on English soil and I can't see any way England won't win the Ashes back next time we tour there. So many...

Who will score the next triple

Well maybe you were joking. I objected to you calling a good bloke like Matty a wanker, we have had the odd wanker wear a baggy green but Hayden is certainly not one of them.

Who will score the next triple

Fair enough, I just wanted to know what he has against Hayden, best opining batsman I ever saw in my life bar none and I have seen Greenidge's entire career, for some reason he failed to ever score a test century in Australia but he still won matches for the Windies with quick 80's and the like...

Who will score the next triple

Yeah that was my reaction too, I was stunned by that.

In the big matches they had during the War, Miller was indeed a batsman who bowled rarely but that changed quickly when he started taking wickets. By Millers test stats he is more of a bowling allrounder, wouldn't you agree ?

An Extinct Breed ?: Great spin bowling allrounders

By the way mate, I hope you were checking the first class stats of players like Faulkner and Armstrong and the others from that era. They didn't play enough test cricket then so using only test records you will only get a 10th of the picture.... what does horrible OP mean ???..... acronyms I...

An Extinct Breed ?: Great spin bowling allrounders

Smith has a long way to go as a spinner or a batsman, I hope he gets to greatness but I am not sold on him yet. Rhodes may not have put it all together like Giffen did on occasion but if I didn't put a pom in I would be called biased... LOL.... I looked at the guys from back then and paid...

Wisden names All Time World XI

I think many of the pitches in the 50's were very good batting wickets... apart from rain affected English wickets so bowling stats probably reflect that. Miller may have batted high up in order sometimes but that usually because we Aussies had a weak team in the 50's, we sometimes had tail ends...

Wisden names All Time World XI

Good team, Flower was so obvious. I have seen Bangladesh only once, when Steve Waugh played them so I have no idea about any of them. Hadlee was obvious too but I'd probably just put in Ponting for Viv and Ambrose for Marshall just to be contrary and immediately boot Sharma out for Tendulkar., I...

Wisden names All Time World XI

Well Miller made Don's Australian team. I agree to a point that both men were a bit biased towards their own time. I criticized Don's team for not including Gilchrist... and Hayden in his Aussie XI. Obviously Arthur Morris was a gem of a player but to suggest he is as good or better than Hayden...

It would but not if Richies team played Don's team , you cant play against yourself.

Who will score the next triple

Maybe if Hayden tried to out cook you you would make him look bad but I still don't know what you have against Mathew Hayden, is because you think he couldn't bat, or cos he is an Aussie, what is it ?

I thought is WI won that game they got back the trophy. Anyway I am glad it happened against Harmison and the poms, love seeing them belted all over the ground
