    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

If rain is forecast I think they have left it too late. They have more than enough runs.

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Obviously India really doesn't want to lose this test and they have a healthy respect for England's chasing skills. If they declared now the RRR would be around 4.7 but perhaps they are looking for something like 5 before a declaration.

Um no. Bradman scored his legendary 974 in 1930.

Gill has 524 runs in two tests. Is Bradman's 974 under threat?

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

Fantastic win where they were pretty much behind the game since the end of day 1. Absolutely epic in the context of SA cricket history.

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

No one seems to remember that SA has in fact won an ICC championship, the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998. I was surprised Pollock missed this but apparently he wasn't part of the team.

Pity he couldn't stay till the end. Tremendous innings anyway. Has to be one of the greatest in SA cricket history.

The wicketkeeper saw exactly what happend but appealed anyway.8-)

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

I think Australia's best hope was a couple of early wickets by the quicks, some day 4 turn for Lyon and a few more wickets and then sweeping the tail with the new ball. They got the early wickets but the problem is there just isn't much turn.

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

Have a feeling Australia will get a couple of quick wickets early on and put SA under a bit of pressure with ghosts of past defeats floating in their psyche. If they can push through and get the runs it will definitely make a huge dent in the choker tag (though it won't completely go away till...

*Official* Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025

Iyer's knock has to rank as one of the best chase innings in IPL knockout history. Those sixes were of course brutally decisive but that four off a Bumrah yorker has to be one of the most amazing shots I have ever seen in a high pressure chase.

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

The semi and final were uncannily similar. India making somewhat heavy weather but winning comfortably in the end. One of their big guns (Kohli and Sharma) sets up the chase. KL Rahul guides the chase till the end and Hardik plays a useful cameo but loses wicket. After his much-criticized...

    **Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

I wonder how many times the opening partnership in innings 3 has outscored each individual team total in the first two innings. Possibly in the days of uncovered wickets with Hobbs and Sutcliffe batting in innings 3 but it must be vanishingly rare. If it weren't for Bumrah, I think this game...

    **Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

The only way India can win this series is if Bumrah takes something like 50 wickets at 15. Which honestly seems possible the way he is bowling right now but realistically this Indian team has too many gaps right now to be competitive.

*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

I am sure it's very rare but there is an SA match from 1924 where they scored 30 and 390. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/south-africa-tour-of-england-1924-61820/england-vs-south-africa-1st-test-62539/full-scorecard

    Great catches at clutch moments

Obviously inspired by SKY's marvel in the final. As a catch it was of the very highest order, he was moving with great momentum towards the rope and to keep inside and the ball under control was a fabulous effort. In terms of the moment, it was huge, the last over of a final and if that had gone...

Regardless of what happens, Bumrah has shown he is an ATG. Astonishing stuff.
