Final - England v New Zealand

And yeah Boult should have done better with that catch especially since the other fielder was right in front of him. He was also lucky to get away with that full toss off the last ball of the 50th over and I think Stokes should have done better than hitting it for a single.

Final - England v New Zealand

England obviously had some luck today especially those extra four runs. However: 1) They had the bad luck to lose tosses in both knockout games (and NZ won both of theirs). 2) They finished higher than NZ in the group stage 3) They beat NZ in their group match 4) They were much more dominant in...

Final - England v New Zealand

I also think the boundary rule is stupid but England ranked higher in the round-robin and beat NZ earlier which would be better alternatives. I think one other possibility is to give the tie to the team that has lost the toss which would also be England.

Final - England v New Zealand

The greatest day in the history of sports? Certainly in my lifetime. I was rooting for Federer and England and so I guess I am reasonably happy. I still haven't begun to process the craziness of the last hour.

In fact that Akram over was also the 35th over and England were 141 for 4 in that game too.

This was around the score in 1992 when Akram took two wickets against a certain side in a World Cup final...

    2nd Semi Final - Australia v England

This is only the fourth time Australia has lost a knockout game in the World Cup and it was easily the worst of those losses. Definitely did not expect this kind of pasting particularly after they won the toss. Who I am rooting for? I think England because they have the aura of a true world...

India Vs England - What a Pathetic Performance by Dhoni

Kohli's shot was too aggressive given he was new and the ball was swinging. I suspect he was trying stamp his authority on the game early but it was not necessary.

India Vs England - What a Pathetic Performance by Dhoni

Actually I wonder if the criticism of their leisurely start against England pushed them to be too aggressive early in this game. If that is the case, it doesn't speak well for their ability to intelligently adjust according to circumstances. 28/1 after 10 overs when chasing 300+ was probably too...

Not surprised we are out failing to chase but I expected it would be a 300+ target set by England or Australia. It's been a really poor effort, one in a long line over the last five years. I don't think there is any question that this team struggles in pressure games.

1st Semi Final - India v New Zealand

Yeah I think Dhoni's innings was a reasonably effort till the 43 over mark or so given the circumstances but after that he should have accelerated and tried to hit the occasional boundary at least. He was well set and having boundaries scored at both ends would have put huge pressure on the...

    45th Match - South Africa v Australia

Can anyone explain why Pretorius bowled only 6? Seemed a strange decision after getting the wicket of Warner. Fun game though it would probably have been much less interesting if Tahir had taken a pretty straight catch to dismiss Carey.

    38th Match - India v England

This was a poorly timed run chase right from the beginning but the last few overs have just been horrendous.

Yeah losing Dhawan is obviously a huge blow. The semi-final spot is probably not in danger but the big question has always been whether this batting lineup could chase 300+ in a knockout game. They couldn't do it in the semi four years back and they couldn't do it against Pakistan in the...

25th Match - New Zealand v South Africa

In terms of the big picture, it's looking increasingly clear who the top four will be . BD has possibly the last shot tomorrow at making this stage just a little bit interesting.

25th Match - New Zealand v South Africa

Only watched a few overs and there was a dropped catch, a missed runout chance and that amazing non-referral for the edge. And afterwards there was apparently another dropped catch and run-out miss so I think this to be yet another entry in the annals of SA World Cup chokes.

    6th Match - England v Pakistan

I really like the effect of these upsets in the context of the new format. It's thrown the tournament wide open and unlike recent World Cups it looks like most games will matter without the usual run of pointless early games. Afghanistan looks quite capable of pulling an upset too.

Yeah that runout looked different from different angles. I think this shot is better. Yes, it's two cameras in split screen but presumably they have precise time-stamps for each frame.

    *Official* IPL 2019

Fun game, though admittedly only because of some dodgy cricket especially that dropped Watson catch off Bumrah which would probably have finished the game right there. I though the Dhoni runout should have gone the other way; there was clearly some serious doubt and the batsman has to get the...

***Official*** India in South Africa 2017/18

Such a crucial moment in the test and series too. I can't remember a test that has been so defined by multiple runouts. Amla and Philander brought India right back in the game. Pujara put India in a big hole and just when they were digging themselves out, Pandya dumps them back in. And except...
