    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

So this is looking pretty good. I'll have to catch highlights of Young and Lathams' innings. Very pleased to see Young go on and get a hundred, when he so often looks serene and then finds a way to get out. And pleased to see Latham play exactly the innings he's in the side for in these...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

You wouldn't expect to see a batting lineup as good as CD's get smashed by Otago like that. 4/18 and then a tortuous slow recovery to 162 via 7/79. Hazeldine, McKay and Foxcroft not necessarily known for keeping the runs down (though the former two do take wickets) and all went at 4s or below...

He's impressed with the white ball all domestic season since back from injury, though tbf that yorker was a foot down leg and O'Donnell kicked it onto his stumps. I don't know what our schedule looks like (aside from Champions Trophy and no tests until July) though I'd like to see Shipley get a...

Hottest take - selecting Boult for that tournament was a disaster as it gradually turned him into a white ball bowler and ultimately reduced his red ball effectiveness and truncated his test career.

If Henry gets another 50 ODI wickets he probably surpasses Mills imo. Mills: 170 ODIs, 240 wickets at 27.0. Econ 4.72. Henry: 85 ODIs, 155 wickets at 25.3. Econ 5.18. Henry used to be the new Mills, needed to bowl all his overs up front and then be fenced off 50m from the bowling crease in the...

Yeah Mills really had a knack for mysteriously finding a little extra extra bounce and speed off the wicket out of nowhere. 🤔 But more seriously you're right that the reason he's not rated higher is that he never contributed much in world cups, which is really what counts. Some bad luck with...

Yeah horrible batting record and he's been around a few years now. Is nearly 26, you'd think he has to average at least 30 with the bat in FC and List A the next few seasons if he's going to keep his Wellington spot.

I'd forgotten he got injured. Great example of how a fringe player might get an imperfect barely-half-chance at a decent international run and if something goes wrong, that's it. Probably wouldn't have happened, but if he'd stayed fit and pummeled those weak sides on that tour, he'd have then...

Bad luck for Sears. There's been a bit of chat about the fast bowling options, Ferguson's availability, Duffy's omission and now inclusion. But it's mostly a sideshow for this tournament, the bulk of the attack are the four finger-spinners - Santner, Phillips, Macewell, Rachin - who all make the...

243 was exactly the chase from that semi final and final too, wasn't it? Anyway this could be the biggest win for NZ since the coveted Banglawash Trophy.

The catch wasn't bad though it's no surprise Bruce couldn't handle such a ferocious wicket-ball. Sure... it was not the classic unplayable full toss, but short wide and slow is hard to deal with in its own right.

Great for Tashkoff to get a maiden hundred - after being NZ U19 captain a few years ago it's taken him a little while to settle into domestic cricket.

Oh yeah didn't notice that. Seems Seifert did reasonably well in the Big Bash, but I just saw he performed poorly for the well-known Sharjah Warriorz in the International T20 League too. Wonder if he still swings himself off his feet all the time while going for the big shots. He was... close at...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Is having exactly the all-format breakout season that you'd hope for a 24 yr old who has played a few domestic seasons already. Kudos to him. Must be worth a go in white ball cricket for NZ soon.... if we ever decide to move on from Latham. Hay having a somewhat average season in the meantime.
