SL on fire. Shame it's taken until the last match of the series, not that we haven't done that in many series ourselves.

what a hilariously terrible review from SL

Well er good start for Sri Lanka... Wouldn't expect Rachin to get so thoroughly beaten on the swinging yorker like that.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I didn't see Canterbury's 20 minute collapso to lose against Auckland the other day and they just replayed it on my feed during the ODI innings break. Didn't realise what an absolute stunner of a catch Jacobs took on the boundary. Even better than Smith's the other night in the ODI. :notworthy

Spin bowlers often get hit into the stands a heap at Eden Park, but today spin >>> pace (except Henry).

21 runs in three overs, for a wicket we thought was already gone when he retired hurt earlier.

Actually produced reasonable runs for SL for a few overs. You'll be mad if Nissanka has a long injury layoff now because he's made it worse, though.

Fine leg was really useful there, if fine leg means the guy in the stands that took the catch

If we wanted to play Macewell I don't know why Duffy was left out instead of Smith. Haven't the NZ selectors reviewed the cricketweb.net discussions that rightly concluded Duffy is a better ODI bowler atm?

Canterbury can defs thank me for this one

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Maybe *this* time Canterbury's strong bowling attack can help them register their first win. Though tbh Rae isn't that great, Sodhi often gets pumped even in Super Smash and Foulkes is new, it's really just Jamieson + Shipley that is genuinely strong. Where is Henry Nicholls btw?

I had to remind myself of who was contracted in the end, as they may prefer those players, and Clarkson is. However I *think* he was injured for a bit and has only just come back, which might be why he didn't make the NZ squads for Sri Lanka. I don't rate him particularly highly, though is the...

It's opposite skills - Guptill would've taken a legendary retirement wicket with his offspin, like Ross Taylor. But you're right, we should have a three month festival-of-Guptill to say our goodbyes. Everyone could chop a toe off in sympathy. Glib comments aside, a great white-ball batsman for...

Yup! Though tbf that last over was extremely hittable length bowling, Schaw on strike might have got it done too.

Not to pile on the guy, but match losing? fumble by Blundell second ball to allow the second run to put the more dangerous Clark back on strike, and Clark duly hits the next ball for six.

CD may just have blown this. Good over from LVB and Abbas' final over was actually very good too.

Decent, not quite peak, but sharp enough.

Jack Boyle has scored some runs here and there, good List A record, and scored today. But there is also younger brother Matt Boyle who is 22 and looks fairly promising, very good innings last match.
