I was at the match and there were a few around me discussing that. There's a mental component to games (of course) and Australia simply daunts some players/teams. I don't think NZ will be daunted next time we meet, we'll have to earn our win.

Well consider yourself lucky, England's is like that of a forgetful Britney Spears getting out of a limo.

How would the other teams have done?

You poor devil. You not only got into an argument with tooextracool but actually invited him to reply. :smartass:

    Geraint Jones moves on

Maybe he's trying to make it into the QLD state team and ...NO! DON'T SAY IT.... eventual selection for the country he ......BE STRONG, LET IT GO ..... grew up in and played cricket in till his early 20s.....GOD I FEEL SO DIRTY!

Ethnicity in aussie cricket wahts the real status

Well we have quite a few thousand from Afghanistan and to generalise cricket is not their game, plus they are not that amenable to assimilating. As I've said before we have quite a few Sri Lankans and they are the opposite. They love the game and assimilate well but I don't know of any rising...

If that was the first time Hussey had done that the he'd have won for sure. Worryingly it seems the team are beginning to expect it and the media not notice. McMillan would have been a worthy winner if they had won, but to get it when they lost would have been cruel (Nathan Buckley in the 2002...

Ethnicity in aussie cricket wahts the real status

I would guess say that with school cricket when my boys played we had a pretty representative mix of kids play, bar those of Asian background. Likewise with Australian Rules football, and with my daughter's netball. I appreciate you don't want a debate but to be Jewish is no more to be part of...

'Agricultural' and 'village slogger' aren't adequate terms for his batting. Three seagulls were killed during his innings I believe.

God yes! Though I fancy he must be getting fed up with rescue missions due to our unproductive top order of late. Thank you, and it will be no surprise if you do win. There was little between our sides tonight. Well that will be interesting. I reckon England are a lot more solid now as well...

At 6/188 I want to say now that regardless of who wins I want to congratulate NZ for tonight. They don't just hope to win they believe they can, and are playing accordingly. Very good game.

Shortening at present. McMillan and McCallum up to 120 near end of 33rd over and look well settled.

Unlike us. If a few of ours are selected we would probably do better. :@

Och aye the noo! It's 150 years since the McKangas left Scotland but I still feel a tinge of pride. Sound like some fairly fierce cricket going on over there in Mombasa.

What's to discuss? Virtually no game takes place where a doubtful or even outright wrong decision doesn't get made. This was an ODI where we had plenty of overs still to face, not too many runs to get, and a few batsmen left (3 then?). I completely accept that losing Hussey at that point...
