    I'm dissappointed with England, 5-0 - McGrath

"Look out he's behind you"! Oh, wait, sorry wrong panto call. I meant "Oh no you're not"!

    Ashes Commentary

Ditto. Aggers and Skull are tops but quite a few of the others on ABC Grandstand are good as well.

    WANTED: One English wicket-keeper

Meh! If there is a cricket structure in PNG apart from expat whites it is the first I've heard of it. From Wikipaedia : "....Geraint Owen Jones MBE (born 14 July 1976, Kundiawa, Papua New Guinea) is a member of the England cricket team. Until August 2006 he was the first-choice wicketkeeper for...

    Who is for the chop?

My 4 most doubtful after Ist innings in Sydney: * Pannesar is a good bowler but a very cheap batsman. He is a deserved cult figure but must be good for 20+ runs an innings (persist) * Anderson fielded particularly well (persist) * Read is laughably #6 batsman but keeps well. When better...

    WANTED: One English wicket-keeper

Do tell? Pietersen obviously, quite a significant South African background. The Papua New Guinean? The other South African? I clearly have some research to do.

Sydney Day 3: For God's sake England, fight!

As an Australian fan still smarting at being denied 2 days of the Melbourne test I have loved the Sydney game so far i.e on Day 3. But late in the day I am seeing any chance of a contest slipping away. England are 3/67, trailing by 35. Surely they can take it to 200+ by the end of Day 4? I...

    WANTED: One English wicket-keeper

Does it matter? If you have to ask you lack pride IMO. England has something like 50 million people, surely 12 can play cricket? Sorry, 11 - they have one South African in the team already.

    England's bowling plans revealed

NEWS FLASH: England have announced they've discovered Australia's bowling plans for the Sydney test CORRECTION: An honest mistake. Turns out it was the laundry instructions for the team uniforms. They said 'Spin gently and hang out to dry'. You can see how the confusion arose.

    Who Should Captain England?

A bit cheeky of him in his position.

    Who Should Captain England?

I reckon it takes more than that. Someone the other day talked of the Australians as the Baggy Green Machine at test level. How many times now have we seen Australian captains whose form has slipped towards the end of their career but the BGM has still supported them in their role? Cricket is...

    Vaughn 'Lingerer of the Year'

Who? Makes him sound English. Do you mean the South African ring-in Kevin Pietersen?

    Who Should Captain England?

Claire Taylor! I had to look her up but yes, she'll do.

    Vaughn 'Lingerer of the Year'

The dates seem slightly out, and the first names are different. However the inscription has got it nailed.

    Who Should Captain England?

My thoughts Michael Vaughan because: 1. He performed reliably onfield. 2. He had 'attitude' off field, in a good way. 3. He seemed to be able to stand up for himself where Flintoff gets pushed around by players and selectors.
