Caption This: Anderson, Broad & Cook

Unlike his contemporaries, Stuart Broad believes in presenting the full face of the bat.

Who would you pick to bat for your life?

Not really. Didn't someone on here mention his sticky wicket average was 16? He wouldn't have lasted the third day.

If you're questioning his selection, I'm with you too. Yuvraj over Kaif on a possible turner is suicide. I suppose Dhoni brought his "Yuvraj will play every innings" policy into the test arena too.

Who would you pick to bat for your life?

Gavaskar and Boycott for Scenario 1 (even if Bradman was eligible, I'd pick these two). Sachin and Lara for Scenario 2. From a weakened field: Boycott and Chanderpaul. Lara and Richards.

That pitch was far from underprepared. Where did you get that idea from? Besides, the notion that any pitch that turns from day 3 is 'substandard' is ridiculous.

    Vivian Richards vs Sachin Tendulkar

Maybe Tendulkar should wear insoles and swagger around in a blue India cap chewing gum, while averaging 36 now on Allan Border would be better qualified than most, having actually set fields to Viv. As coach during the Sharjah tournament, he and Steve Waugh admitted pretty much to having no...

You've got 3 from England, mate.

    All Rounders XI

Haha, what? Whatever the stats show, I won't rate Pathan as an all-rounder until he scores a hundred in a live and testing match situation anyway, so this thread isn't meant to showcase his prowess as an all-rounder. What if we relax the batting critereon to an average of 25+ ? It'd let the...

    Indian Premier League

Whats inane about the so called restrictions? It wouldn't kill the media organisations to share their images with the BCCI, would it?

    Indian Cricket League thread

How is that desperation? They had a 4 day tournament in mind all along anyway. It makes for better quality to have 3 teams in it than 7 or 8.

    Indian Premier League

They haven't been banned. All the BCCI wanted was for them to upload whatever images they click onto the BCCI website within 24 hours for them to use in their promotions. The media threw a tantrum on having to share what they were getting for almost free anyway. It's apparently been sorted out now.

    All Rounders XI

Mankad and Goddard were regular openers for India and South Africa respectively. Mankad even held the partnership record for the first wicket till recently.

    All Rounders XI

Yet another select-a-team thread. Pick an all time All rounders Test XI, with the provisio that it must include players from atleast 7 test nations, and no more than 2 from any single nation, including the keeper. To be eligible, players must have taken atleast 100 career wickets at less than...

How to make Test cricket more interesting?

Make one single test of every series count towards a World Championship. The visiting team picks one test, at the start of the series, as a sort of 6 day SuperTest to that end. Make the FTP follow a 4 or 5 year cycle, and you can have a best of 3/5 series between the top 2 teams at the end of...

Badrinath finds next to no mention in the print media, I hope he doesn't end up as Sriram version 2. Kaif has his fair share of advocates, as did Yuvraj who was annointed as the saviour of Indian Test cricket until the Australian tour had those 'journalists' scurrying for cover. Sehwag had his...

    Razzaq vs Pathan

Razzaq was very impressive in the '99 World Cup. He's also played more match saving/winning knocks than Pathan and knocked over Tendulkar many times. I'll go for him at this point in time.

    ***Official*** South Africa in India

There is no debate on in India on those lines. A few stray articles here and there mean zilch. Verbal diarrhoea flowing from lack of a pragmatic thought process is characteristic of these armchair 'journalists'. Slowly phasing in new (as opposed to just young) players is accepted convention in...
