    Jayasuriya vs Afridi?

Afridi could pinch-hit, but the turning of a match by him would require a lot of input from the rest of the lineup too. Jayasuriya isn't dependant on the rest of the lineup to turn a match as much as Afridi is. So it boils down to what exactly constitutes a pinch-hit innings - a 30 off 18 or a...

    Australia don't do draws

Has to do with lack of good opposition more than anything. IMO, a greater factor than even their aggressive approach to the game. Flat Australian pitches would offer more draws if only the opposition matched upto them. India drew two in Australia in 03/04, and drew 1 (and if not for Bucknor, 2)...

lol. The Indian team looking to banish all criticism of pathetic fifth day batting collapses by ensuring the match goes nowhere near a fifth day to begin with.

Who's the greatest opening batsman of alltime?

I don't know. How exactly do you class the point at which something went from a chance to a non-chance? :p

I'm an India supporter and I found it funny :D BTW, news channels reporting that Sehwag, Yuvraj, Sreesanth, Dhoni, Ganguly all reached Ahmedabad just the day before the test. Reason? Being forced to attend IPL promotions and ad shoots. Well done, Mr Modi. Hope the MCC spirit of cricket manual...

Battle #654685 - Kumar Sangakkara vs Kevin Pietersen

OMG, LOL, LMAO, ROFL, ROFLMAO, WTF all more widely prevalant easily. And the usage of 'TBH' is not to be encouraged. The implication of generously peppering one's sentences with that particular phrase/acronym is that in instances where it is not used, you tend to be dishonest, besides so...

You already got a Nagpur in 2004. You're only getting one like this again if you prepare a raging turner at Sydney next time India tour Australia. :p

Modi making the players travel across the country to promote the IPL in between two tests wouldn't have helped their preparation one bit.

Yeah, although if they score 400+, it'd mean they've used up a day and a half. The more time they use up, the lesser time India need to bat second time around. However, SA chugging along at 5+ runs an over isn't exactly helping that scenario for India.

There's always a second innings. I remember a season opening test a few years back where the visiting Kiwis rolled India over for 100 odd in the first innings, only to see the match drawn. Was quite a bizzare test, that.

Whats your point? Batsmen can't have failures following a good innings? I remember Anwar getting out cheaply on a Mohali wicket a couple of days after he blasted that 194 of his in Chennai. Conclusion on your part? :)

I don't think conclusions are being drawn from one innings. This is the way Sehwag has played all his career.

Are you suggesting that Sehwag waved goodbye to textbook footwork for just the duration of this particular innings?
