Semi-Final #2- New Zealand v South Africa- Wednesday, March 5th- Lahore

Mitch is clutch! Fingers crossed on Henry though, would be a shame if NZ qualify and he isn't fit

Reminded of how he got Sarfaraz Khan in the Pune test, nicely slowed and floated up.

This surface and match scenario can be pretty unforgiving for someone with his particular skillset. Calls more for a Harris/Styris type of bowler I feel. Mitchell or Phillips is the closest NZ have.

RVDD is settling into his work now. That last shot was a treat.

Yeah the real test for him and Bracewell will be when they have to contend with Klaasen or Miller. Bracewell will probably bowl out, but Santner might look at sneaking in a couple of overs from Phillips and Ravindra to save himself for that phase.

Nice observation, if NZ go through I think Williamson might be the only one from his side to appear in all 4.

Wonder if it may be worth giving Mitchell a go and seeing if he can bowl wicket to wicket with pace off. Of course South Africa have to do all the running but they're well capable of accelerating properly with wickets in hand and NZ's death bowling isn't great.

Often the more memorable ODIs have tended to be closer to tests (or at least have given the bowlers a real say), but the people who matter want them to be more like T20s. Unfortunately that is unlikely to change.

Good new ball bowling for the most part though they'll want another wicket to show for it. Little margin for error clearly, with boundaries coming every time Henry has even slightly missed his line and length.

KJ has been picked off each time he's strayed on to the pads. Otherwise looked on the money.

Good bit of field placing, ball held up in the surface it looked like

Terrific score obviously and will take some chasing, but SA do have the firepower should they get off to the right start. Hope the NZ pacers have a plan beyond relying on the newball.

Nice little comeback from SA till then, they hadn’t given anything in the slot for Phillips/Mitchell up to that ball.

Such a Stead-era NZ move to send Latham out in this situation, anyway hopefully Tom can bring out some not-often-seen slogging chops. 360 really should be the goal here, bat-a-thon in the offing.

Played Kane, not his fluent best but great to see him turning up in a big game again. This is exactly what he was trying to accomplish the other game in Dubai, accelerate properly once he’d taken things deep, didn’t have the support then.

Good time for a break for South Africa, bowling's been a bit too predictable in the last couple of overs. Taking the pace off should be the way to go.

Special knock considering it's come in a knockout. Shows why he slotted right back in after the injury.

Yeah there have been a few 50-50 moments where NZ have got away, but that one was on SA. Every time they've gone pace-off NZ seem to have offered chances.
