Are Travis Head and Nathan Lyon the only two Aussies that would make it into the English side?

I don’t think we could make room for anyone else.

Has Bazball made Test cricket interesting again?

If Australia didn’t always lose wickets in heaps, it would honestly be more interesting to watch paint dry than watch them bat.

Why are England so much better at producing all rounders than Australia?

Way better than anyone else produces though.

Has Bazball made Test cricket interesting again?

Not knocking the Aussie style of play but I grew up in the 90s watching the Ashes where people like Taylor and Waugh would bore us to death with their scoring at 2 runs an over. Christ, that was tough to watch. At least England make Test cricket interesting.

Why are England so much better at producing all rounders than Australia?

They’ve never really needed an all-rounder. Perhaps the question should be why do England produce so many?

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

Anderson got funding through the Burnley Cricket Club though. There is always a benefactor when English cricketers are concerned. I would bet my house that a wealthy club or supporter made Root’s career possible.

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

It was an exaggeration. According to the National Cricket Consensus in Australia, 1.6 million people in Australia engaged in cricket competitions which dwarfs the participation rate in the UK.

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

People complain about racism in English cricket but I would argue elitism is far worse. I’m from Manchester and the club circuit is dominated by private schools and wealthy clubs. I’m sure racism does exist, but the growth of cricket here is hampered by the ideology that cricket is a ‘middle...

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Old Trafford is my stomping ground and I feel Australia will get stomped there. I’m 85% certain that we will be heading to the Oval 2-2.

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

We’ve tried quite a few like Lyon and they have gone for runs at the international level.

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

Jack Leach has a much better strike rate and economy in England than Ali. Again though, Leach is just there to hold an end up without being overly threatening. Do you want an economical spinner or a wicket-taking one?

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

Ali dishes up so many loose deliveries. In English conditions, unless you have an outright wicket-taking spinner, you just want them to hold up an end. If we want wicket taking options, then Ahmed should be playing.

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

He is the most economical bowler out of both teams and is averaging 27.00 with the ball. He has probably been the best spinner bar Lyon.

    David Warner

Warner will probably “pick up an injury during training” and be replaced before Old Trafford.

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

It’s absolutely ridiculous, the ECB is hellbent on hamstringing England.

    Who’s batting is actually better?

England’s batting line up is ahead but they play far more risky cricket which makes games tight. Australia’s batting is nothing special, they are WT champions due to their bowling.

    Harry Brook

Faster cricketer to 1,000 runs ever!

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

The northern grounds have always been England’s fortress, their records there are immeasurably better than at Lords and the Oval. It doesn’t make sense why England play so much in London. Obviously, money plays a part but they are consistently better up north. Tough task for Australia now...

Doesn't only one of these people belong driving a tuk tuk?

It was clearly a reference to tuk tuk batting. I’m disappointed that you brought race into this, I expect better from cricket fans.
