Glouce don't enforce the follow on  I'm right that in a 4 day match if the team batting second, don't get to within 150 of the total the follow on is enforceable aren't I?

    Giles retires

Well said. A crap or useless bowler doesn't have a first class average of 29 and a list A average of 25. No he isn't a fantastic bowling talent but did a very good job for England to the best of his abilities. His stats reflect the fact that he was asked to bowl defensively on none turning...

    Giles retires

They can score runs but they not in the same class as Giles with the bat. He knew how to bat well enough when only the tail was left but he also knew how to hang around long enough to back up a genuine batsman. None of the above have that skill yet.

England can't afford to let the middle order get in on this track and Dravid early.

:@ Yep, not the kind of pitch you want to be facing the Indians on especially when looking to win the match only to achieve a draw for the series.

He just left one that most batsmen would have left. The problem was it came in a very long way. I don't really see how the beamer influenced his decision to leave it. Plenty of batsmen have received beamers, it's not like he really felt that he had just nearly died and his life flashed before...

That's not a good analogy, just because they don't get an immediate ban it doesn't mean that people who bowl beamers are allowed to do it indefinitely.

It did look like it just slipped out of the side of his hand, he couldn't do it that way again if he tried imo. I get the feeling there are some sour grapes coming from Athers which is a little disappointing.

Totally agree. Edit They just keep talking crap, they don't even notice that the bowlers changed until he's half way into his over. Sorry but they are really poor commentators, I know we're spoiled a bit with TMS but this is just dire. Cross gone :)

Doesn't play have to stop at 7:00 also there has to be a 10 minute break between sessions. Rain washing out the final day would be hilarious from an England fans point of view, I'd have no sympathy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?id=2803 However weather looks astonishingly good...

Regarding the question of whether the teams against Sri Lanka played deserved draws or not, I couldn't possibly make a brash judgement like that as I would have to look at matches individually. Slow over rates or not, the rain fell when England needed 1 wicket to win while about 100 runs in the...

    ***Official*** India in England

I have no problems with 'England Deserved to Win' because they did, India were saved by the weather and nothing else. Whose to say that if we rushed through the overs the bowling would have been anywhere near good enough to dismiss anyone, that argument is far from conclusive imo. Sometimes...

I feel quite bitter now, I hate seeing matches like this stopped by rain resulting in a draw for a team that doesn't deserve one. On the other hand if I were an Indian...

Broad gets Singh :) I hope Rashid gets Tendulkar, he needs a wicket. This is the first time in a very long time I've taken much notice of an England Lions (well A) match and it's not just because they are doing well.
