Prior gone for a 15 ball duck.

England still need 162 runs to save the follow on. Not that India will enforce it. Edit Bell gone.

He was in the squad I believe. Both are tall fast-mediums with genuine pace (ignore Tremlett's cricinfo profile he's not medium fast). I don't know an awful lot about Broad but Tremlett doesn't simply rely on seaming conditions. It depends where outside of England, I doubt either would be...

Much to be said for that point of view. Bell has been poor for a while and Collingwood hasn't been that bad at all. However Collingwood is currently as good as he will ever be and Bell is, despite recent form, maturing into a quality player. Maybe more county cricket for Bell. Maybe Shah at 5...

You say 'ever going to get a chance' he's only 21, as much potential as he's got it's not like his county form is demanding a Test call up. Tremlett is currently a better bowler with room to improve imo. In fact I could Tremlett becoming a very good international bowler.

Yes it's harsh but I think it should at least be tried. Shah is a better batsman for me.

As for Hoggard I think it is fair to say he will be fit most of the time, this recent injury crisis is his first. I think I'm right in saying he has played more consecutive tests than anyone else. He's shouldn't be put in the same group as Tres and Freddie. Harmison? Granted, I did initially...

Agreed. England do not have a test standard wicket keeper batsman, they county standard batsmen who can keep. Simply play the best wicket keeper which is by a very long way Chris Read. With all players fit I think this team should be tried: Trescothick Cook Vaughan KP Shah Bell/Bopara...

Not really, I'm confident in England's 'collapsability'.

That was more about me venting at England than you tbh, really I just wanted to say how much of a walkover England are.

I can't believe there's any doubt in your mind, do you honestly expect Collingwood, Bell and Prior to put up any sort of meaningful resistance? India have the series and that's a given, the only thing that will stop a 2-0 win will be rain.

Totally agree. While I still think England were desperately unlucky not to win the first Test (let's not get embroiled in another debate regarding rain, over rates etc.), India have definitely dominated the second test and this one so far. Even if by a miracle England draw this Test India...

Actually I meant cue Geriant Jones and when I was thinking who would have left it I was more thinking of Read actually, I got distracted half way through  honest. No doubt Jones would have leapt at that too. Oh and I do think Read is the better choice, I was saying the first bit tongue...

Cue Geraint Jones. He probably wouldn't have gone for that in all fairness.

If it was any other batsman I bet this attitude would be different he'd get congratulated for hangin in their when not feeling in great nick. How f****** ungrateful are some Indian fans when it comes to Tendulkar? He may not be as good as he once was but is still better than any replacement...

Exactly, an example is that India learnt very early that Harbajan Singh should not be played anywhere where the pitches don't suit him i.e. outside of India.
