***2019 State of Origin First Try Scorer***

Some of it is injury related, but it's still insane. One prop in the entire squad? Really? Walker in particular seems unlucky. Didn't have a great game but the dude was in his first Origin. If you're going to drop him after a middling performance in a 4 point loss at Suncorp why bother picking...

Souths. He's surrounded by one of the strongest rosters in the comp. He's just one of those guys that has much more in him than he gives at club level.

It's Origin. You have to do something breathtakingly stupid (like pulling a guy down by his shoulders when he's in the process of playing the ball) to get penalised.

Haha. I thought the exact opposite. QLD played with very quick line speed all night and defended really well. You could see they were gassed in the closing stages though. Good Origin. Feel like NSW could do better than Cleary and QLD still look good despite having several passenger selections.

It's a bit silly but those plays are always called that way.

Heh, that's not bad actually. Both more aloof and cerebral talents with divisive characters. Both were blooded very early and made an immediate impact. Both have baby faces which subtly skews opinions on them. I'd say Clarke scaled comparatively higher heights in his field than DCE did though.

I certainly wouldn't have picked Cleary as my first choice. There's no way you could watch even one Penrith game this year and think "yep, those halves belong in Origin". Reckon he'll go better in a team that isn't obnoxiously terrible though. It's crazy how bare QLD's hooking stocks got when...

Getting selected for Origin 10 games into your NRL career has to be some sort of record.

We still stink, but the team at least appeared to give a ****. Some good defensive efforts. Parra weren't great opposition, but I'll take anything atm. Cleary actually had a decent game, but really doesn't deserve to play Origin.

This is as pathetic a Penrith team as I've seen.

Can anyone explain why the Folau thing is taking so long? Are they worried about the legality of punting him or just really desperate to have him available for the WC?

They truly were a juggernaut today. Tigers had nothing. Spectacular stadium. Perfect ground for this part of the world. Cursing that I won't be able to make it in round 11.

Meant to comment on this earlier, but a Canberra that doesn't beat itself is a genuinely scary prospect.

I'd say his stamina is a pretty extraordinary physical attribute. Plays 80 minutes, makes 40+ tackles a game, next to never gets injured and has been doing so for 17 years. But yeah, not really the same thing as what a GI or Slater has (had). God I hate waxing lyrical about that grubby ****.
