*Official* Pakistan in Florida and Trinidad T20s/ODIs Tour 2025

Cue to the biggest over of the innings bowled by Greaves. Motie appears to have trapped Rizwan LBW. Given out but reviewed

Is Waqar Younis an ATG test bowler?

But Imran was still taking wickets with reverse in all games. I don't think it's just the wickets frankly it was high bowling quality on all sides.

    Curtly Ambrose vs Dennis Lillee

I'm sure a lot of cricketers are better once you remove debut series. Btw the 2.4 is still a far cry from Lillee at home (2.75). And of course Lillee has a better SR.

    Curtly Ambrose vs Dennis Lillee

...and one where he had genuine health problems. Ambrose after 17 Tests was averaging 27 with the ball and had taken 60 Test Wickets in 33 innings. At the end of the 1980s – At home, Ambrose had played 7 Tests and taken only 12 wickets in 13 innings at an average of 53 but overseas he had...

Was SF barnes a spin bowler or pace bowler?

Australia's Ted McDonald and West Indies's Learie Constantine were two bowlers who were actual true pacers who could switch to bowling off spin, Constantine's average speed was calculated by the Cambridge universe to be 85 mph but he did bowl off-cutters and could switch to off-spin. McDonald to...

Is Waqar Younis an ATG test bowler?

That series is different because those pitches were proper minefields, I think the top scorer that series was Viv Richards and he made like 185 runs in 5 or 6 innings, nobody averaged 35+ I think. The 82-83 one is just...ugh, pitches were as flat as possible in that one.

    Sourav Ganguly vs Kumar Sangakkara

Anwar was a better Odi batsman than Ganguly.
  8. Thala_0710

    Sourav Ganguly vs Kumar Sangakkara

Ganguly and Dravid aren't too close, but they aren't too far apart either imo. Ganguly easily better for me, but it's not like Ganguly was great and Dravid was mid.

    Sourav Ganguly vs Kumar Sangakkara

...Anwar was better, but Ganguly went big more often. Anyways, on stats alone you would think Dravid and Ganguly were close as well. Don't think that was the case at all. Feel that's kinda true here, I think agree with Ankitj, Ganguly wasn't a dasher but set the tone of the innings well in his...

innings should not have ended with an awesome throw like that

I wonder what the Charles Bannerman record is for T20Is. Edit: Well out of David's reach, it turns out. https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/highest-percentage-of-runs-in-a-completed-innings-283996 But still a fair effort from his position in the order.

    Sourav Ganguly vs Kumar Sangakkara

Not anymore than say Shakib in 2019 world cup. ODI cricket is really far less about raw stats. Ganguly was a set-the-tone kind of opener who also frequently went big. Sangakkara was a middle over accumulator who AFAIR rarely changed the momentum of the innings, a bit like Kallis.

And doing a more than decent job of it in this innings.

Was SF barnes a spin bowler or pace bowler?

...from 1958-9 is interesting. When he's first brought on to bowl, the commentator describes Keith Slater as a medium-pacer, but in the second innings he calls him an off-spinner. Most of the time he's clearly bowling spin, but at 12'15 you can see him coming in off a longer run with the keeper...

That was legitimately an awful innings from Maxwell. Is this the new Australian T20 way? Just hit everything?

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

the totals were below 350 70% of the times iirc.

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

Dude in four out of five of those remaining series his SR was mid 60s. The other vs Aus in 1995 he was clearly struggling for impact outside of a green pitch. I don't know why you can't admit he had these periods of low productivity and it affected his overall output to be slightly below par...

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

Other than his debut series, the series where he was ill, Ambrose had one other series in 12 where he took less than 2 WPI, coming down to less bowling innings.
  19. subshakerz

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

Actually 0.4 per innings IMO does translate over an entire career into more impact. Show me how the slightly better average is more impactful than an extra wicket per game. Lillee hardly played much away except for England where his SR is better than Ambrose there. His SR is around the same...

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

0.4 wickets more per innings isn't impacting games when you have a spinneresque average. Really? Making a deal out of 5.8 deliveries more to take wickets at a significantly lower average now? BTW why did you ignore away SR? Ambrose has a better SR while literally going for 4 runs less a piece...
