Well, it definitely makes sense if people just, yk, don't rate Barry over Hobbs, Hutton, Gavaskar and Sutcliffe. That's 2 teams, then there's Grace for whom these arguments are significantly more applicable for, and Trumper for whom peer rep applies significantly more. So 4th team is about right.
You've already got more than a good enough 8 in Lindwall
Against an average team maybe, but against a team of comparable quality that tail is very weak.
You've got a 20+ avg bat in Lindwall and 2 potentially 15 avg bats in Holding/Grimmett or Holding/Laker...why do you need more than that from no 9-11?
If we take Botham though? That makes the tail a bit more important Imo
But they won't actually average 20 or 15, in much the same way that Dravid or Waugh won't average 50.
I mean Botham isn't a necessity and even with him I'd rather go for the 3 best bowlers. 20, 15, 15 is good enough imo for me to not compromise on bowling quality

I just think Lindwall/Laker/Holding/Bumrah is enough of a bowling upgrade for the batting to not matter as much
