This team can ruin anyone overnight but Mbuemo going to Man Utd should be a somewhat slam dunk. I don't know why he would turn down Newcastle though. :confused1

Yeah as Kraken says, assurances over first team football. That would be my guess.

It's actually quite a smart decision from the player. He can go to United sign a long contract, earn huge wages and not be accountable for his performances.

How United afford the deal will be interesting especially now Bruno has rejected Saudi. I'm not sure they'll have the money to pay Brentford's demands.

Ha true enough.

From the Athletic today.

The Bruno one is really tricky , this is a side that still hasn't replaced Michael Carrick so trusting them to replace Bruno is a big leap of faith, but on the other side he is 31 and that 100 million they could have got from the Saudis would be useful if and its a massive if they were canny with the money.

Realistic sales seem to be Garnacho and Sancho, worrying rumors that Antony and Rashford may only be loaned for another season and Onana may stay.

What sort of budget do they have and what is their PSR position?
Finances are tight, but United did budget to sign Cunha and Delap without Champions League football. Their combined fees of £92.5million could be offset in cash terms by instalments — Wolves will be paid in three equal chunks starting this summer, for instance — and also on the books by amortising the fees over the length of their contracts, in Cunha’s case, an initial five years.

The money assigned to Delap, who will be sold by Ipswich for £30million, can now be used for an alternative player. Signings beyond that are set to be dependent on sales.

Any smart team that knows they need cash will low ball at best. More likely to ask for loans or just wait till the end of the window and figure United might panic. The Glazers would definitely panic at the end of a window. Be interesting to see what Ratcliff does.

Mbuemo wage demands to join United are £230k/w...

Haha just have to respect it - this guy knows the game and that he's dealing with clowns.

The fan base is in hysteria over the signing and he's probably better than any other target they can get. Genius level IQ from his agent

Romano has poured cold water on those wage requests, it seems to be coming from just one Newcastle journo the 250k reports .

He's going to be paid very well but Big Jim won't allow those mega wages anymore .

Regarding deadwood, we get it every summer "all going to be cleared out" , but it never happens, they should be able to flog Garno to Napoli/Chelsea, hopefully ETH signs Antony, not quite sure about Rashford and Sancho, possibly loans unfortunately.

They may have to sell Mainoo worst case scenario.

The glazers had issues selling because they didn’t understand that the market sets the rate. You don’t get the 90 you paid for Sancho if no one but you thinks he’s worth that. Simple stuff.

Spent two summers as well chasing him, just a banter team personified.

Sancho is a really interesting one, he did look elite initially in Germany, but was poor at United and yes I know United could ruin peak Pele , but considering the hype what a dud. The other big name signings did show much more in glimpses than Sancho ever did bar Alexis .

His loan return to Dortmund wasn't great, had some eye catching performances in Europe, but considering they were not to bothered about retaining him is damning.

His Chelsea loan was very meh, very much a 6/10 .

I don't know where he goes now, obviously people will get a pass for stinking it out at United but he's been average for near 5 years.

Southgate used to get stick for not picking him over Sancho lol.
