Cricketer Of The Year
Biggest omission is Shreyas Iyer. He scored over 600 runs @ SR of 175 in the last IPL season. I don't see how Rinku Singh was picked ahead of him. Rinku's barely done anything in the last two IPL seasons (or T20Is for that matter) and his strike rate is bang mediocre.

Rana ahead of Prasidh makes sense. Check out Prasidh's t20I ER. You'll be shocked.

Those were 5 games back in 2023. With the IPL season he had, and he's cleared improved quite a lot in terms of consistentcy, I'd have him over Rana easily. In fact I'd take quite a few guys over Rana tbf

Rana did impress in some opportunities he got in white ball cricket for India (I don't watch IPL, be damned if I did). Remember the game when Rana was like-for-like substitute for Dube? :D Rana has good pace, a good surprise bouncer. Decent package IMO.

Coz they bat 5/6 and Shreyas doesn't? People should understand that T20s have evolved to basically be a role based sport at this point. Its super specialized these days and you need folks who can play that role well. The only ones Shreyas is competing with are SKY and Tilak, and they have gone with Tilak coz of his form in internationals even though he was moved up and down needlessly by MI in the IPL.

Rinku I get that for, Dube I don't. Dube is not a better no 5 than Shreyas. Shreyas plays spin better, accelerates faster than Dube from the start and is in general just a much better bat. The only reason he bats higher is that he has other skills too. But even in this role, I really can't see Dube doing better than Iyer

Iyer can easily challenge Tilak at 3/4. It's not like we should not have backups for Tilak and SKY. And who decided Iyer can't bat at #5? He has the big hitting game.

Of course all of this will be brushed under the carpet because we will beat some mediocre teams and this garbage management will be praised for winning this rubbish tournament. A tournament we shouldn't even be playing in the first place.
