I would select Iyer before selecting Mathews tbh
I would wait till they retire. Mathews for all purposes is finished.I would select Iyer before selecting Mathews tbh
For Sharjah , Shoaib Akthar is a must ..The venue is classic Sharjah for a five match ODI series. No ball change.
Is there a ROW XI that can beat them in these conditions?
Please keep to the below team formation.
Jayasuria/Sehwag/Ganguly/Rohit
Tendulkar
Zaheer Abbas/Rohit
Kohli
DeSilva/Zaheer Abbas
Dhoni (c)
Imran
Kapil
Wasim
Bumrah/Waqar
Murali
Raina as well feel has a decent shoutI would select Iyer before selecting Mathews tbh
Agree top 2 inches but alsoThat team is beaten by most Aussie teams. It's not about the skill at this level, but about the fragility of the mind.
Oh goodie, when Migara has no actual argument he resorts to icc ratingsMathews vs Yuvraj - Batting - Once again nothing much

Bowling - they are a gulf apart.

There is absolutely no reason to select Yuvraj over Mathews.
ICC rating is the argument. You can only come out with very flimsy ones ones that is presented.Oh goodie, when Migara has no actual argument he resorts to icc ratings
First off, I have no horse in this race, as I care little for limited overs, and have made no other posts arguing anything in this thread.ICC rating is the argument. You can only come out with very flimsy ones ones that is presented.
I would like to see some evidence that ICC ratings are inferior to opinions of non-casual fans.First off, I have no horse in this race, as I care little for limited overs, and have made no other posts arguing anything in this thread.
Secondly ICC rankings and ratings of players are very flawed, as any non-casual fan besides you knows. Using them in an argument like this means you have no actual way of arguing your point, so you’re grabbing relatively meaningless numbers.
They have very similar ratings throughout career, and they played in a similar era. I won't readily compare two players from different eras using even ICC ratings. Sanga as a pure bat has way better ratings than Ponting. Once the ratings are pretty similar or close, then we can go for other sub topics or semantics because we know we are comparing similar players. You mean like icc ranking ponting over sangakara?
Almost like eye test doesn’t workBut google says ponting was above 800 for 111 matches and sangakara was 109. Is that true?

Out o how many total matches? But google says ponting was above 800 for 111 matches and sangakara was 109. Is that true?
The horizontal axis is of different lengths in the two charts because of difference in their career lengths. I don't know how can one eye ball that. But google says ponting was above 800 for 111 matches and sangakara was 109. Is that true?
