I think he's competing with Sai for a spot and I think this management would be more inclined to give Sai more opportunities

If he gets selected again in the not too distant future and fails again he might join Andrew Sandham & Brendon McUllum as batsman who have struck triple hundreds yet only average in the 30's.

No matter what situation you are in, playing with 10 men is always going to be a disadvantage. Gets even worse with Overton bowling dross and no specialist spinner.

Was really rooting for him but that’s his career done I feel, first innings top score notwithstanding.

Yeah it’s a big if tho. It’s so hard to tell with this inconsistent bowling lineup and what the pitch will end up doing. They are so inconsistent that you’d want a big cushion to weather a couple good partnerships.

A nightwatchman coming off gives so much cushion to a batting side. Should almost be a specialist role; select one bowler who knows how to hold a bat and give him regular batting drills.
