4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

averages of some of the India bats minus England

Jaiswal: 41.76 (–7.97)
Gill: 42.17 (–7.94)
Jadeja: 31.53 (–4.35)
If you exclude the 9 test's against bazball england, Gill's average goes from 42.5 to 31.2. Still better than Zak Crawley's career mark........

Wait, if India win the 5th test, who gets the trophy? England have obviously won the moral trophy, but it's a drawn series at 2-2 and this is the first "Anderson-Tendulkar trophy", not sure if India retain it because they beat England in the old version of this series in India.

Pitch Rating 3/10. This was too heavily in favour of the batters, apart from 1 spell from Woakes, absolutely nothing in it for the bowlers. Even a bowler can score 50 on this pitch(Carse got 47), all rounders easily hitting tons on this pitch - Jadeja and Sundar.

The fact that England could not bat twice to force a result is an absolute indictment of this cricket pitch. Pure drivel from eng curators.

Nah even he was saying on the mic that it was embarrassing that Sundar was not shaking his hand. What's embarrassing, Mr. Crawley, is coming 90 seconds late just because you were scared that the world's best bowler was about to eat you for breakfast. What makes me fume is that India let him get away and make 80 odd. Other than the fact that he's from the Southeast and he has an aristocrat father who's mates with Rob Key, I can think of nothing else going his way.

That said, despite the poor behavior from England, I respect Joe Root a lot, even when he was captain. Always took the high road even in treacherous times.
Bharat Sundaresan wrote a few years back that even during that 21/22 Ashes tour from hell, Root always took the time out to speak to young fans in the nets and spare his time to give them advice. Speaks well to the character of the man IMO

Whatever it takes!!!
Stokes making runs was a big thing for England. He has been immense with the ball but if he also starts getting somewhere near his best with the bat, that is great news. I suppose everyone made runs on this pitch but still, he will feel a lot better next time he is out to bat.

TBF that was the only time he had a lengthy hit.

You don't get points just for doing the bare minimum expected of a decent human being, particularly when you still have so many questions to answer over your role in the ongoing racism in both Yorkshire and English cricket.

Jadeja becomes the third visiting player in history to score over a 1000 runs and take 30 or more wickets in an away country. Seems like statscraping at first but a pretty significant achievement considering the company he finds himself in and in particular the names that aren't there.
