I really rate his strokeplay tbh. Played like a proper bat this innings rather than the pointless blockathons he's been doing recently.Think a lot of Indian fans have undervalued the spine that Sundar gives to their batting. It doesn't really matter that he's boring af
Anyway well done him he's helped save the game and given India an outside chance to level the series.
I’m sure he will be devastatedIf this ends in a draw and somehow India miraculously win the next test, would think of Baz as a bigger fraud than Gambhir
He's not boring though, that's just newbie fan frustration. He seems to always come in at these tricky times but he has more than a few strokes in his bag. Good hooking and cutting, elegant driver lofted or along the ground. And the most important bit, his temperament. He needs to be a permanent member of this side.Think a lot of Indian fans have undervalued the spine that Sundar gives to their batting. It doesn't really matter that he's boring af

He gets a lot of flak, but it would have been interesting to see how Bashir would have done, Dawson has been economical, but we of all teams don’t care much about that and it’s been easy to be economical with India largely thinking about the draw. If we were to go with a tall off-spinner, we have Jack Carson at Sussex, but he seems behind Leach, Rehan and even Farhan Ahmed in the plansHasn't hit the rough much, is a bit flat. Doesn't get the kind of bounce a taller spinner would.
Spinning it away vs the lefties + giving it more air. Almost has the license to throw it up because they're not banking on him to hold up an end. Dawson sort of has to be more disciplined.
Jadeja at 25 was a below average bat in test cricket. Sundar already has a healthy average as we speak, better than some top order batters. This looks like being a draw now.
That drop from Root off Jadeja is looking costly now, once again he has stepped up for India when it counts.
India are going to miss him when he retires, his apprentice Washington is pretty good but not as good as him.
Maybe it would have been costly, but considering Thakur isn’t the worst batter and got 41 in the first innings, I think it’s unlikely it would have triggered a collapseThis looks like being a draw now.

Is Potts fit?Woakes has played all 4 Tests so far despite looking like he’s lost a step, Cook played against Zimbabwe and was in the squad earlier in the series ahead of Potts, I agree that they don’t seem overly keen on Cook, which must mean that they’re even less keen on Potts
Got 2/31 in that briefest of games at Ciderabad this weekIs Potts fit?
I don't think he's boring at all.He plays the match situation. After all it's a Test Match.Maybe some people think everything should mirror the IPL.Think a lot of Indian fans have undervalued the spine that Sundar gives to their batting. It doesn't really matter that he's boring af

In fairness, there’s never really been a good time to come into the side as an England spinner, spin has always been a bit of an afterthought, even more so on these dead wickets. India’s spinners haven’t got much joy, so I think we should cut Bashir a lot of slack for the job he’s done for the teamFeel sorry for Dawson coming back in this test. Got a wicket early but it's been flat. He's been metronomical and accurate but there's no help whatsoever.
Granted England aren’t good at playing spin, but he’s got as much joy out of these surfaces as any spinners in either teamI don't think he's boring at all.He plays the match situation. After all it's a Test Match.Maybe some people think everything should mirror the IPL.
