Only just remembered to check the score and how has Maxwell faced so few balls? The new meta in T20s is to get one guy on a good day to monopolise the strike and try kill the game early?
If it's not, it should be. Incredibly frustrating wherever watching a guy going ballistic but not getting enough of the strike.

It's a common plan at all levels of cricket. I've had opening partnerships where I've faced 2/3rds of the deliveries because the other bloke is just turning over strike

I remember it happening a bunch with Travis Head where he looked capable of hitting every ball in the power play to the boundary, but would lose strike too long because the other guy was struggling to get set, and then he'd get out. So wasteful. I find cricket is still a bit off where it could be in terms of effective team strategy in T20s.

WI have bowled bad this series, but these are very high scoring conditions and the batting has let them down just as much. The takeaway from this will be the opposite of the Tests. The Test pitches made the batting look worse and the bowling better* whereas here the batting is being made to look better and the bowling worse

*Their batting in tests was bad and bowling good, but not by as much as people think

West Indies really let them off the hook when they quickly took 3 wickets to have them 5 down and with the run rate rising to then chuck in wides & no balls to ease the pressure on the new batsmen.

Game looks gone now.

That last 6 from green was nuts. Front foot, straight hit off a back of a length ball for an 85 metre six.
Yeah I feel Green could be a true monster in this format as he still seems quite scratchy a lot of the time, yet the sheer power he has means he scores at 200 sr anyway

Has the ball gone soft? Feels like the batsmen have really struggled to hit the ball these past few overs. Fair few full tosses they've mishit.

Which makes the instances where it doesn't happen at a fully professional level even more baffling tbh
