Bumrah bowling beautifully in this spell, just isn't much in the surface at the minute. Sure that won't stop Pope trying to throw his wicket away though

Everyone other than Siraj and Stokes has seemed way down on pace this match. Bumrah’s just bowled a 128kph half tracker..

With that boundary Root draws level with Dravid in career test runs.

Took them both 286 innings to score as much.

edit: Now draws level with Kallis and both scored 50 or more 103 times up until now.

Interesting stat that showed Bumrah is averaging over 42 against the Top 7 in this series but only 7 against the tail. He's just not been getting the key men out.

also read that in the 7 new ball spells he's bowled, he's gone wicketless in 5 of them. i have zero idea as to whether this is good, bad or average. i just felt the need to post it.

Carse has struggled all series. Archer was never going to be quick again after such a long layoff and no fitness to fall back on. Bumrah pace dropped in last game as it went on. Makes you admire the quicks over the years who didn't lose pace and played regularly.

He had 5 catches dropped off him in the first test tbf. That's definitely affecting the stats but this game has been pretty poor from him so far.

The amount of balls faced for 2nd-5th is interesting. Punter and Root far out ahead in how quick they have got their runs

Ponting 22,782
Root 23,182
Kallis 28,903
Dravid 31,258

He’s definitely below his best but he has actually gotten key wickets through the series. I think his wicketless innings in the first match and here are inflating that stat quite a bit.

Out of his 12 wickets in the series, 6 have been the top 6, including Root twice, Brook, Stokes, Duckett and Crawley.

It's not as bad as that. He had four catches dropped off him in the 1st test and noball wicket. He has been really good in half of the innings he's bowled in, but equally mediocre in the other half, like Leeds 2nd innings..wicketless. If we take Leeds 2nd innings out of the equation, he is avging 30 against top 7. Been hit or miss. This test his pace is way down. Hardly bowled a ball above 136. Mostly around 130-132.
