Barnes just doesn't have the test record for me. There is a reason I'm not voting Grace (or in an arguably more comparable way, Pollock/Headley).
I was asking pacers before this vote. He hasn't voted yet
Imran and Miller was my only vote in R1. Was busy for R2, and I don't really care about which of Kallis or Miller gets in on this round. Imran is in already.

Why not just do the same vote again? The race is tight.

This is sort of the issue I have with these votes. There can be a drop off in second rounds.

Because I'm not sure that it's the right pick anymore, now that other places are locked in. Hammond and Kallis sharing the 5th sounds very good to me, and the tail below Imran is very weak.

How good was Ames with the gloves?
I reckon he's close to the elite tier, his batting (like Gilly) sometimes leads to his keeping getting underestimated imo. He holds records in the county championships to this day, including most stumpings and most dismissals (in separate seasons).
"The wonderful record of A. P. Freeman, who taking 304 wickets in the season, beat the record of the late Tom Richardson, was helped materially by Ames' work behind the wicket. Ames took Freeman very well indeed. It has been said of him that he makes wicket-keeping look easy, which appears to be true; it is the greatest compliment which can be paid to a wicket-keeper."
