Though overall, It's fine tbh, I hope we go to Old Trafford with a 5 man pace attack of Woakes, Tongue, Carse, Atkinson and Stokes with Root as our main spinner.

I insinuated India not getting points docked for WTC is BCCI elitism, HB insinuated Duckett and Carse not getting fined but Siraj getting fined is white supremacy at work, HB thinks neither is true but white supremacy angle is closer to truth than BCCI being the new MCC.
Bcci are money hungry bastards i agree but if they are so powerful why do india always at end of poor umpiring decisions if they are so powerful?

Also, England have been kinda awful this series tbh – Woakes is a corpse, Carse is carrying an injury and we lack bowling depth to replace him, Bashir is garbage like always, Archer showed clear rust in his first spell on day 4, Crawley and Pope still can't bat and Duckett/Book still haven't grown a brain. It really shouldn't be this tight with an India in transition after England were humiliated in India in 2024, a ball rolling back into stumps doesn't change that.

Disagree with the word awful

they’ve had fantastic periods of play through out the series

Yeah, but only on individual performances, not as a unit. India dominated the first test largely until day 5 and completely dismantled England in second, third was the only time where I can say both England and India were trading blows.

India are also going through transition. England just sized key moments( collapse in first test. D4 evening session 3 rd test)

Johan your post above has virtually destroyed England completely

if that was absolute truth what you post how are England leading 2-1?

Agree, this is a case of BCCI elitism. Archer and co were well within their rights to give a proper send-off to all the batters. Also, Duckett just brushed into Siraj's shoulder, big deal?

Gill should've been banned for at least a couple of games to question the manhood of Duckett and Crawley. They had every right to waste time, doesn't matter if it they were pushing it and it was too obvious. Everyone does it.

Gill's behavior was not good agreed. But archer swearing at pant and crase shouting at jadeja doesn't prove england are Angels either

England have finally picked their best spinner who is more than handy with the bat in Dawson.
He hasn't had the best season this year but should greatly improve England's bowling attack. Bashir's poor bowling was one of the reasons India were so ahead in these 3 tests.

India may have upto 5 left handed batsmen in the top 8 in the next test. So Dawson a left armer is not exactly the best pick. Jaiswal, Sai, Pant, Jadeja, Sundar. They won't mind the ball coming in. So England should go in with 4 pacers (Woakes, Atkinson, Carse, Archer)

A spinner, even if they’re spinning into the left-handers, is still useful, a) as a plan B when seam isn’t working (especially late on when footmarks appear), and b) to give the seamers a rest, I know your alternative would mean the workload would be shifted among more seamers, but it’s still more likely that a seamer rather than a spinner breaks down

I think both India and England will rest Bumrah and Archer respectively, considering Old Trafford is the Sydney of England and there's a high probability of a draw. England should go with Atkinson, Woakes, Carse, Tongue and Stokes. India with Deep, Siraj, Jadeja, Kuldeep and Sundar/an extra pacer but we know they'll pick Nitish over Kuldeep.

Jadeja did what he could. He doesn't have the power game of a Klusener or Stokes to scorch boundaries with the field out. Not much of a manipulator of gaps either. He can run as hard as anyone but after Reddy even that option was closed to him. He's basically a very limited strokemaker, but he's not picked to play strokes in Tests. The blame if any has to be put on the top order.

Jadeja and Washington are nailed on, so I struggle to see a place in the team for Kuldeep as three spinners is too many for England. I’d like to see Archer keep his place, especially if Wood can play at the Oval, that would seem like an ideal time to rest Archer, only change to the seamers that I’d make is Atkinson for Woakes, with Dawson in as the spin option
