He doesn't play that much overseas, and mostly gets rotated around, in last 10 years his overseas average is 44 and even if you remove this series, he makes a fifty every fourth innings, that's pretty good.
Yes he has definitely improved.

Yeah, Ashwin doesn't give you much in SENA/overseas conditions, just okay bowling + #7/8 batting, Jadeja gives you #6 batting and good performances with the bat + okay bowling + elite fielding, I think in this series England probably let go 10-20 runs simply because they didn't wanna challenge Jadeja on a quick throw or a direct hit. So I reckon Jadeja is actually a more valuable cricketer in difficult conditions for spinners.

Jadeja. Went neck n neck with Ashwin in India as bowling allrounder, and continues contributing with bat abroad. Superlative fielder too obviously. Not really much of a contest imo.

You're right. Jadeja is better than Ashwin. Ashwin isn't that much better of a spinner.

I thought the narrative was he was being picked overseas instead of Ashwin. But now he’s not playing overseas much…

Ravindra Jadeja scored a game changing 57 at Melbourne 2020 and picked 3 wickets in few overs that he bowled.

in Sydney 2020, he picked 4 wickets after Aus were 200-2 and then produced a game changing run out of Smith to deduce Aus to 330.
Ok but that wasn't my point

I am not sure how both are even comparable in bowling. There was a good gap between these two.

Ahswin pretty much based on his bowling got MOS every 3 series he played. Fans can talk about conditions in India, SL, WI etc helping him but Jadeja was with the team at the same time.
