We are caught between a rock and a hard place because our batters are tier 2 at best and our bowlers are possibly the third best pace attack in the world.

But there is certainly an argument to play Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghanistan, learn to score runs again, bowl them out and win some tests.

So naturally, our next two series are India and New Zealand away.
It would be the sensible thing to do but the problem (I assume) is Tests against zim, Ireland and Afghanistan would be significant money losers

Well that's my cue to avoid WI cricket for the foreseeable future. ✌
I always say that and yet somehow end up back. I'm in an abusive relationship with West Indies cricket...

I think from now on I may just watch us bowl though, a bit of self preservation.

Yep 100%. If tier 2 tests are to work, it needs financing by the ICC to avoid losses, as well as promotion and relegation, which should include the big 3. Its that simple. So it won't happen.

Carl hooper was saying on the radio this morning there’s some proposal to bring in standardised match payments across the board for test matches. That would have to help keep some guys from joint the t20 circuit for a while you’d hope

These were three competitive tests. Would have loved to watch 'em but the time of day hasn't been quite right.

For those who've been watching, how much closer might they have been if the Windies had won all three tosses? They were in every test until the final innings.
