Carse looked more than a bit sore after Edgbaston, and he was fine at Lord’s, sometimes you have to treat even your fast bowlers as professional athletes and not delicate flowersTrue that. Akash also looked a bit soar, and Siraj took some hits while batting. In worst case, they have Arshdeep Singh waiting.
How about a 50-50 where the tracking shows the ball passing a hair breadth's away from the stumps, and the umpire gave it Out?Anyways, as accurate as the Hawk Eye is it will always show you the estimated path of the ball. Hence I believe that 50-50 decisions should be given in umpire's favour where you are valuing his experience more than tech data.
Don't know what style of a player he is, these days. He seems to be generally more of a stroke player, as we saw down under in Australia in conditions where that approach is more conducive, as well as the IPL. He isn't the most technically gifted, but when the guy you're replacing is Shardul "I bowl pies" Thakur, you could do worse. At least he does provide that 5th seamer option and built a bit of a partnership with Jadeja in both innings (ignoring the pathetic communication between the two). But his line/length needs work, because without that, he's just another club level trundler. What’s your opinion on Reddy?
Is that because he’s tired, or because of a flaw in his game?I think you maybe correct but we shall see
I think he looks very tired and keeps falling over his front leg and getting bowled and lbw
I don't know that Bashir will be missed, to be honest.Bit weird to have the near fortnight break now but hopefully it will allow a few to re energise
we know one certainty , Bashir won’t be involved anymore this summer
I think it’s both. When you look back on pope dismissal the amount of times he over balances and ends up on one , getting bowled or lbwIs that because he’s tired, or because of a flaw in his game?
Not so sure about DC Sundar being a ''poor man''I don't know that Bashir will be missed, to be honest.
I kinda like him, actually. Pretty nice dude, and it's uplifting and inspiring to see someone get picked for so many test matches without going through the traditional guardrails of posh private schools and a rigid county structure. But somewhere it comes back to bite. He's bowled okay, but nothing too threatening. Kind of a poor man's Sundar. I'd probably pick Bethell.
On a separate note, it's interesting to see a test specialist spinner in this day and age.
@Red_Ink_Squid to commentSorry to say, but Chris Woakes is just about done. Not getting much rhythm with the ball, and just about useless with the bat.
Not much. Maybe Sai Sudharsan will come back for the last 2 matches. Might as well groom a youngster with whatever limited time remains of this tour, especially since his Surrey experience could be helpful for the last test in South London. So possibly up to three changes for England
what do people think India will do for the next match ?
He's been doing that since his first ever Test thoughI think you maybe correct but we shall see
I think he looks very tired and keeps falling over his front leg and getting bowled and lbw
Ultimately, he's not been good enough, but it's hard not to feel for Nair, he looked like a man who knew he was on his last chance last night, I assume Sai Sudharsan just slots in for him. If India just keep their heads, this series is very much there for the taking, Jaiswal and Gill will come in for some criticism after yesterday evening, but they've been two of India's best players this series, and again the bowling looked strongNot much. Otherwise, I can't see a lot changing, barring any fitness issues for one of the bowlers or the top order. They'll be hoping Pant recovers quickly, because Jurel behind the stumps looked like the type of kid in school who was afraid of being called on in class.
