3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

International 12th Man
We've bowled excellently this Test

Washy's 4-fer might be the end of Kuldeep's test career. Kuldeep's already 30+, and if Jadeja retires they probably replace him with Axar as a like-for-like swap. Plus Axar and Washy spin the ball in different directions.
Problem with Axar is he's a darter. Not that big of a spinner. So Kuldeep will always be an option although mostly as a reserve.

Our so called all rounders (jadeja reddy and sundar) must score at lest 100-120 runs if india have to cross 350
India's all rounders are a sum greater than their parts , been a pillar of strength for India in this test ..

Reddy, Sundar and Jadeja contribution so far in the test :

8/174 with the ball
125 runs in 3 innings with the bat

That's great from the utility players they deserve the credit , value of all rounders 🌟

What can you do when you’re up against Bumrah? He did hit a nice shot when Bumrah just missed his length, and tried to hit another one away, but other than that he couldn’t really do anything
He was blocking out Washington too, and Bumrah isn't like impossible to hit, especially when he's bowling that full. It's not like they were scoring any runs regardless, why not take a chance of adding a quick 20 or so in three or four overs?

yea I don't think Washy is an all-conditions spinner, but he's fine on a worn/dry deck. Any conditions that don't suit his bowling will lead to a seam-heavy attack anyways, like we're seeing in this series. With NKR emerging as a legitimate 4th seam option too, and Axar waiting in the wings, I don't see a way back for Kuldeep into this XI.

He passed that mark a while back. In terms of allround, match-changing wicket-taking skills, I think he's up there with Marshall, McGrath, and Steyn.
Glenn McGrath:
  • Tests: 124 matches, 563 wickets
  • Bowling Average: 21.64
  • Bowling Strike Rate: 51.9
  • Best Bowling: 8/24
Malcolm Marshall:

  • Tests: 81 matches, 376 wickets
  • Bowling Average: 20.94
  • Bowling Strike Rate: 46.7
  • Best Bowling: 7/22
Dale Steyn:

  • Tests: 93 matches, 439 wickets
  • Bowling Average: 22.95
  • Bowling Strike Rate: 42.3
  • Best Bowling: 7/51

Does India need both Sundar and Jadeja in the same test XI? I reckon an extra specialist bat could be deployed for one of them.
