3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

This could well be Woakes last test unless he can pull something out of the fire. 4th innings will be his best chance to do that.

Look I appreciate that heat in England is genuinely much more serious from a public health standpoint than the raw temperature makes it seem but I can't be having Ravi Shastri pretending that these temperatures would be at all remarkable for an experienced international cricketer.

Woakes bowling with the keeper up now, that's a slap in the face.

If I was a fast bowler I would want to knock the keeper's head off along with the batsman's head but I was just a slow medium bowler.

Smith standing up to the stumps for him? That's not a good look for an opening bowler.
Yeah. But also, how effective is it really? Ok so you force the batsman to stay inside the crease, but you're also drastically reducing your chances of catching any decent deflection. Always seems like a low reward strategy.

Where is Atkinson at? He should be in England's best test X1, he's a good pace bowler and he can bat as well.

Maybe. It is pretty brutal though. It's about the same temp as it was in Barbados when I was there and a lot more of a struggle
