£50m for Madueke when they're haggling over a few million with Sporting for Gyokeres feels like such an Arsenal thing to do.

Also a big fan of Sunderland's transfer strategy of purely buying players who are going to be away for a month for the AFCON 👌 Just what you need when fighting against relegation.

Seems like Arsenal are playing a very dangerous game with the Gyokeres transfer. Some rumours suggesting the whole deal is about to collapse.

That said, sounds like Gyokeres himself has totally set fire to all his bridges with Sporting, so they'll probably have their hands forced sooner rather than later.

I don’t get the negative reaction to Madueke. I thought he was a very useful winger with obvious potential to get even better, but the consensus seems to be that he’s a ****ing clown.

Maybe that's why Chelsea grabbed the first opportunity to get out from his contract? Also how does this affect Chelsea's PSR standing?

the reaction seems to be because Arsenal fans have convinced themselves Chelsea are conning them on every deal

Yeah I don't either tbh. One of Arsenal's main problems last year, centre forward aside, was lack of depth in wide areas. Granted Madueke has predominantly played on the right, which is Arsenal's strongest side, but still.

What do you think he's better than average at skill wise? I'm curious

My 2c is the negative reaction is cause its £50mil and Rodrygo is about to be available for £60-70m.

If this purchase is instead of Rodrygo or Eze its an awful move. Kudus, Mbuemo, Gibbs-White, Elanga, Pedro will likely all move for similar fees.

Bowen is a top 6 player ready made for pl. Scores goals, is guaranteed to give 100% and can play left or up top. Doesn't have to start and would be a great signing for arsenal if they only have 50m for a winger. He's output is much higher than kudos and can't see why more aren't in for him.

Dribbling and getting good shots off.
Pretty short list isn't it..

LFC is now being linked to Rodrygo so if that eventuates it'll be pretty amusing. We end up with the left winger who can play striker and right wing all to an elite level - while Arsenal end up with an average right winger who is even worse on the left.

Ultimately I don't think the Madueke move will even be a talking point if both Eze and Gyokores are signed too.

Andy Carroll joins Dagenham and Redbridge. Who’ve apparently been sold to wealthy new owners. Could be interesting times out East.

Chelsea thrashing PSG was not what I was expecting. Pedro and Palmer looks quite a combo already.
