In terms of pure bowling skill, is Bumrah the greatest you have seen?

Your criterias are as consistent as your rankings, as in they seem to be vibe dependent.

And I have zero problems with folks ranking McGrath over Sachin. Most of the forum does. I am in regular debate mode, challenging assumptions.
can you name an inconsistent element of my rankings?

For the record, I have no problem rating Mcgrath over Sachin - top three bowler of all time vs top three batsman of all time. Careers generally overlapped. Impeccable in every respect.

I have no view of the matter since I think comparison between bats and bowlers is stupid, but if one were to compare, they are the most comparable in their respective fields.

Unfortunately when Asif toured Australia Pakistan dropped over 15 catches that series
Asif does not hit the deck hard, he lands the ball with an upright seam position and in the right areas, this is the reason why he would have always found bowling in Australia hard. A pink ball test match could have made him totally unplayable though.

I agree in the sense that it's not as ideal conditions compared to England and NZ and he would ideally need a yard extra of pace. I still see him doing better than Anderson though because of his control.

However even then he bowled some excellent new ball spells in Aus in 2009/10. He was awesome in Sydney and then in the next test, he had a terrific new ball spell where he was testing everyone but he had both Watson and Ponting dropped off him. Ponting went on to make a double ton as Pakistan were totally demotivated.

If Asif was in Australia since 2018 he would be a really tough threat.

Just to reply to @Johan who thinks Bumrah isn't being discussed as the greatest ever or with McGrath and Marshall, I keep coming across clips like the below where these comparisons are being made. Obviously it's premature but it tells me if he ends his career at 300 at the same place that no.1 place may be the wider perception.

India dickriding + extreme recency bias, let blud get past Steyn first.
Probably 2 genuine conversations there, but most is blatant dicking riding.

Greatest bowler of all time and first name on the sheet is ludicrous.

I recall @peterhrt the other day talking about when there was once a concerted effort to push Sachin and Warne as the greatest batsman and bowler of all time.

This is a tad bit more blatant, but also understandable.

Or maybe it because he has over 200 wickets@19 with a complete skillset and hence is generating this buzz.
