Kurtis Patterson should be given more tests at #3. He's the best top order player in shield for a while. If Green fails all series he will be dropped for Kurtis Patterson. If Konstas fails all series they can try an opener bat off for the Ashes spot.

Marnus may not get a recall this series, but it's difficult to see how he won't be back for the Ashes. Green's value is at 6, and if he can bowl, he's not a 3.

I was talking to a fella yesterday who was in Barbados in 1999 for the test match. Said he had a great time at the “game where Lara and Walsh got them home.”

I said that was one of the greatest innings ever played, and he said he didn’t remember much of it because at lunch you buy two bottles of Coke and one of rum and he did that for five days and was obliterated.
