England comfortably beat the hosts to win the inaugural WXV. Still not really sure how they managed to lose that World Cup Final, they're by far the best team right now.

Played over half the game a player down, if memory serves. Not terminal to a team's chances, but definitely doesn't help.

Yeah refereeing any sport is a hiding to nothing really. If the players don't **** up then the ref has nothing to do, I blame the players for making the mistake. Take a leaf out of Rugby Aus book and just stop people playing the game, that way nobody cares. Sadly.

Wallabies surefire 2027 champs btw, 2023 was only ever a warm-up.

but World Rugby kept silent those times:
The article reads " Stuff understands World Rugby has privately acknowledged", so it would seem they're keeping silent this time too. Then there's the question as to how unbiased over this incident a New Zealand website is actually going to be.

In other news, Chairman of Rugby Australia has been axed and replaced with Dan Herbert, te former hard running #13 from the golden era of the wallabies.

Long live the King, I guess.

Farrell pulls out of the 6 Nations for Mental Health wellbeing it seems (I wouldn't be surprised if he's not the last given the proximity to the World Cup).

Also, Dupont unlikely to play in it either as he attempts to join the 7's side ready for the Olympics.

6 Nations post World Cups are often a bit meh.

European Champions Cup started this weekend, surprised to see 7 out of 8 English teams win, especially Quins and Exeter who won in France. Only 2 French teams won.

Only English side to lose was Saracens in SA - seriously, what are SA teams doing in the European Cup????

Joe Schmidt named as new Wallabies coach, set to start in March.

Did good with Ireland, won't have the same class of cattle at his disposal with the Wobs, but feels like the best coaching appointment we've made in a long long time.

Really hope he can get us competitive, because the Lions tour could be very very embarrassing.

Good appointment for yer Wobblies, Schmidt very much laid the foundations Farrell sr. is reaping the benefits of, (another) WC QF exit notwithstanding.

Expect to see a few more Aus-qualified kiwis in the green and gold too. Loved a poach for the Micks, did Joe.
