Ashwin I thinkHave always thought Sehwag vs Ashwin would be good and close.
Yeah agree. Ashwin's batting gives him the edge.Ashwin I think
Sehwag actually had as much ability with the ball as Ashwin does with the bat IMO, but the nature of batting being much more compulsory than bowling in cricket made it ultimately less useful to his team than Ashwin's batting, and he let it fall away.Yeah agree. Ashwin's batting gives him the edge.

I'll throw it out there that in a worse team - or particularly a team with worse or fewer frontline spin options - he'd have bowled a lot more. I could totally see him being used as a #6 and regular fifth bowler for a team like Aus or RSA.
Between 1999 and 2013Sehwag has 40 test wickets and 96 ODI wickets. When did that happen?
He routinely outbowled Harbhajan late in his career when he was called on to bowl. His 5fer vs Australia was actually a seriously high quality spell in a flat deck. Him and Sachin could've been decent support spinners if they'd been forced to do it more.Sehwag has 40 test wickets and 96 ODI wickets. When did that happen?
I've pretty much lost all memory of Sehwag bowling in tests but it's funny that he showed Harbhajan how it's done.
It’s genuinely funny as **** how little regard he had for the skill, how good he was against it and how decent he was at bowling it without seemingly trying.I've pretty much lost all memory of Sehwag bowling in tests but it's funny that he showed Harbhajan how it's done.
This was a great day for PEWSian theory given how often before then I'd said Sehwag was basically a repressed frontline bowler before then.
Look at the quality of those dismissals
Hahah oh man post of the year!Sehwag and Garner are two cricketers who took to the wrong skill at the highest level.
I am sure we can dig that match thread and seeThis was a great day for PEWSian theory given how often before then I'd said Sehwag was basically a repressed frontline bowler before then.
