One thing I've noticed is how much I rely on the crowd clapping to tell me if a well hit shot is gonna run to the boundary or be stopped easily by a fielder.
Haha, this I noticed as well. Many times I had to wonder whether the point sweeper was in play or not.

What a ****ing terrible innings this has been by australia. Wicket isn’t the fastest but they’ve been woeful again. No one goes on and the middle order has been trash again

The commentators seemed very low key as well, which isn't giving many hints as to whether the fielder is there. Guess it makes sense, they would feed off the crowd too, usually.

Still don't get why we decided to send D'Arcy short in at 4 over marnus, he soaked up balls, got out cheaply and sucked all the momentum out of the innings.

Weird innings, reminiscent of a lot of NZ ODI efforts at blowing a platform over the last several years. Well shy of the 300 they looked like getting.

Always reckon the SCG is the surface that suits NZ best (in ODIs at least) ... slightly slower, our bowlers feel a bit more at home and our batsmen are free to graft a bit more.

That is....not a particularly optimstic list for Marnus.

Looks like this will be quite the uphill chase, quite the struggle to get the ball off the square right now. Think Australia are a good 20-25 runs above par?

And yes, Lyon is proving to be an excruciating listen.

You just can't be 20 off 50. We've gone back to Gup's World Cup mode of chewing up a shitload of balls and making little attempt to break up bowlers' lengths.
