It's odd that Smith's indirect role in a ball tampering saga has lead to this level of hatred. Booing in this situation is something I didn't expect. We wouldn't boo Ben Stokes if he came back after copping a Cummins bouncer to the neck

There are absolutely Aus cricket fans who would, especially during an Ashes where footy season casuals decide they're cricket experts for the summer.

Well, the pathetic booing has made neutral fans like Steve Smith now which is some achievement. Kudos to the English fans.

I honestly thought this kind of thing would win anybody over. Not so much the twin hundreds I can understand not stopping the boos then. But the impact was just soo close to the spot Phil was hit. Instant sympathy points I'd have thought

English people are ****s, like Australian people. And people.
Oh rubbish. We're much better than you lot. Indians wouldnt have booed Smith, we'd have thrown bottles on to the field and set fire to the stands and play would be abandoned which would have been a much more entertaining way to draw a test match than this pathetic English rain.

this feels like one of those days where the commentators will be demanding a #losetowin declaration after the first hour

Can't speak for your average casual bogan fan, but I despised Broad long before that. Just ask Zulqarnain Haider
