Be pretty easy with the vision/coding systems that teams use, and might be outsourced now to other companies.
Does it actually go back to the start of Ishants career I wonder, it is it something more recent. Pretty cool either way

Shami has bowled some real jaffas so far

There's often some disclaimers about stats being "since x time". Not sure if it means that CricViz (who supply Sky with their stats) spent time going back and coding old games or if they just now treat all their stats as implied as being in recent times.

Stokes is a heck of a player. Wouldn't want to be an England fan without him in the side.
He's a good player. He is over-rated by some, he is decent (but has struggled badly with ball in limited overs and with bat also in t20. He's a good test player though). Woakes has been better at home for England (although Woakes is poor away from home). The good thing about Stokes is he gives you the same really home and away. He is more effective with the ball in swinging conditions obviously..I do notice when he does get picked as a specialist bat he does well to get into the mentality of being a batsman, rather than an all-rounder and bats more responsibly and has more focus (shame he hasn't done that in general however)

Really difficult to fathom why England's batting has regressed as the series has gone forth. Root has too much on his plate. Bairstow the biggest disappointment by far.

Buttler has failed again when the pressure is on. Let's not forget he was dropped too. Effectively had two knocks and made 21, no great.

Stokes out now. England in a whole world of trouble. England tend to do this when they pick a stupid team. Everyone in the XI including Jennings himself must know he shouldn't be in the side. His duck put us under pressure straight away, Root was effectively opening the batting (a position he's shown not to be up to). Root needs to bat 4 if the openers are always getting out early. This was a game to bat Moeen 3, or play Vince as a 3 (although personally I'd prefer to try Moeen there, Vince has had loads of chances and failed). I also feel Bairstow was too high in 4. The top 4 had huge pressure on. Stokes isn't a specialist bat, although does try his best to do a job there. Buttler I'm not convinced with in tests with bat or the gloves. The whole team from 1-6 is suspect and the scorecard has shown it to be the case.

I am glad I didn't go to the game. When I saw the squad I decided not to go out of precedence. I'm not giving the ECB any of my money if they aren't willing to pick an honest and sensible side. Instead it's a boys club team or the selectors genuinely know nothing about building a test side.

India going good however, can't hold it against them. I like their seam bowling attack (and Ashwin)

Compton got recalled, though he batted at 3 second time around. Mostly it seems these days that once someone gets dropped from the test side they tend to go back to being pretty mediocre in the CC (that's my impression anyway)
I believe if you aren't good enough you aren't good enough. Jennings was never good enough for tests as his FC average showed. If you average sub 40 in FC cricket then 99% of the time you struggle in tests. Jennings averaging sub 35 in FC cricket as an opener is a huge recipe for disaster as I have said many times.

Compton did ok opening.

I think the worst case was Carberry who got one series and got dumped for good after a whitewash. He didn't even do bad compared to the ****show the likes of Jennings and Stoneman have served up.

This is pathetic. Gutless from England but we keep picking the same failures test in test out.
What current batting lineup would do better against what England have faced today?

I'm sure Smith and Williamson would have found ways to score runs, Kohli as well, but are there really any other batsmen going around you'd back to do significantly better?

Maybe the SA lineup with Elgar/Markam/Faf and Pak with Azhar/Shafiq/some of their young guns I suppose.

Same bat trajectory again from Stokes with that LBW - his bottom hand doing so much work when the ball is swinging leaves him looking very ... Australian.
