The "Not Taken In a Recent Draft" Draft

International Coach
JJ Ferris, the deadly lefty swing bowler to join my team.

CricZo XI

1. Vijay Merchant /
2.
3. Charles Macartney / o - 6
4. CP Mead /
5. Stanley Jackson / o - 7
6. Aubrey Faulkner / o - 5
7. John Waite + /
8. Monty Noble o / - 4
9. Craig McDermott o - 1
10. JJ Ferris o - 3
11. Tom Richardson o - 2

I am loving this bowling attack already. A lot of variety in it.

Craig McDermott and Tom Richardon will open the bowling. If the conditions are pretty favourable to bowlers then we may open with Ferris as well.

Damien Fleming. IMO would have taken just as many wickets as Lee and Gillespie if he played as many tests

Yeah my earliest memories of cricket involve him tearing apart India and Pakistan in late 1999

Syed Kirmani. Entertaining keeper, and gutsy lower order batsman, who with Le Roux, who also averages 25+ in FC, will provide that important last bit of resistance before the tail.

Final XI:

1) Gary Kirsten
2) Eddie Barlow
3) Gundappa Viswanath
4) Mahela Jayawardene
5) Seymour Nurse
6) Tom Graveney
7) Syed Kirmani (+)
8) Garth le Roux
9) Vincent van der bijl
10) Ken Farnes
11) Lance Gibbs

Vishy was never a No.3 batsman, so the job should go to either Graveney or Nurse imo. Graveney did thrash the West Indian attack around the park from time to time when at the top of the order. His 258 at Nottingham against Roy Gilchrist springs to mind. Nurse would have batted more at first drop if not for Kanhai, as his average of 86 over 9 innings implies. So both are reasonable choices.
