Surprised Lee didn't make your Miscellaneous Event as well, given it would take a miracle for him to play any of the 3 tests :p, let alone be Australias leading wicket-taker...

Hopefully Hughes get the traditional 100 in his first innings:)

McGain sounds like a naturally clumsy fella. Listening to Haddin this morning talking about how the boys have been having a giggle at the way he got crook. They were all having a feed and Bryce was saying what a great tuna salad he was enjoying. Turned out it was a chicken salad that had gone off.
This comes on top of missing the plane this tour and getting injured in India as well. He may be the clumsiest Aussie player since TBA May. Any bets on his getting picked for the first test and fallong off the bus as he arrives at the grouind? If I was in the squad I'd be sitting as far from him as possible..

I know he'll probably get picked, but capping guys such is North is such a dead end thing. I really resent 30 year old debutants with a moderate FC record getting capped. He averages below 45 in FC cricket. Mike Hussey is very much the exception, rather than the rule in terms of picking 30 year old debutants. They should take a punt on someone like Ferguson at six - someone who has time and room for improvement.

If North's First Class record is "moderate" then Ferguson's is "****ing shocking". You don't get bonus runs for picking young blokes - North is a better batsman than Ferguson and he's been picked as an allrounder anyway. No brainer.

What does ferguson bowl
Well if he is to be our fifth bowler
You're not seriously saying North is a viable bowling option at Test match level, are you? We used to mock the Poms for picking 30+ year old blokes who had moderate records and who could do a bit of this and a bit of that. It's a dead-end pick in my view, and I would much rather a young specialist bastman with potential and scope for improvement get picked instead.

Most players get dropped from Test cricket (even Waughs, McGraths, Pontings, Warnes etc) and the problem with that for 30+ year old debutants (such as Brad Hodge) is that you never make it back. You never get to come again, and improve. .
