I think you missed the suspension bit, add in the following as well:Why not add our boys to the list?
Ryder
Oram
Styris
Franklin (still recovering)
Heck of a team that would be.
Bond
Vincent
H Marshall

With Roy and Ashley in the dressing room, I'm sure they'll help keep team dynamics on an even keel...Haha yeah, I don't like it much either come to think of it could get really bogged down. Might replace Katich with Quiney.
Fifth bowler?Pick specialist ffs:
Katich
Quiney
Klinger
Clarke
Mussey
Dussey
Haddin
Hopes
Johnson
Bracken
McGain
Same as every other game this season just replace White with Quiney/Katich. You got 3-5 guys to bowl 10 overs there. If Hopes could bat then maybe play an extra bowler.Fifth bowler?
Broom is a long innings player by trade TBH.btw, not sure whether I would have Elliott or Broom in that team tbh.
Elliott would be ideal coming in at 150/5. Broom ideal coming in at 200/5.
Will Styris ever get into the team?Ryder
McCullum (wk)
Guptill
Taylor
Broom
Oram
Elliott
Mills
Vettori
Patel/Southee
O'Brilliant
My lineup.
Won't put Franklin in till he's back at full fitness and O'Brien has been good this far.
His time has past for me.Will Styris ever get into the team?
Styris' days are numbered, with younger guys like Guptill and Broom. Will Styris ever get into the team?
Yeah okay. Klinger being a specialist opener in One Day cricket...Pick specialist ffs:

Quiney

Dussey
Haddin

Johnson

Specialist top order batsmen imo. You could have anyone in that top 3 bat at three. Went for Katich at the top cus he has experience and Quiney cus he scores faster. You wouldn't want two slighty defensive batsmen at the top of the order.Yeah okay. Klinger being a specialist opener in One Day cricket...
The problem with picking Katich is that he's quite poor at ODI cricket.Specialist top order batsmen imo. You could have anyone in that top 3 bat at three. I could live with this side. I would be happier with Noffers in for Siddle, since Siddle is going to SA anyway and he'd strengthen our lower order batting.Jaques opening is actually a very good call - would give him the chance to get some more cricket into him ahead of the SA and England tours, and he's done well in the past - having him as match fit as possible can only be a good thing.

Jaques

With Dussey or White to make way for Ponting, with Clarke going back to 4 and so on...

I guess averaging 35 in ODIs is classified as being poor. Would be the perfect straight replacement for Marsh, who plays the same role. He got a 2nd gear just watch him play Twenty20.The problem with picking Katich is that he's quite poor at ODI cricket.
Has to play the anchor role with no 2nd gear. Might be ok as a very temporary measure but leave him for tests IMO.
35 is a poor ODI average if your strike rate is 69. I can still never forgive him for keeping Jaques and Hayden out of the ODI side in the summer of 05/06 where Jaques made four or five centuries and broke a record in the ODD comp at a 96 strike rate.I guess averaging 35 in ODIs is classified as being poor.
