Battle of Cricket Grounds - Is my first preference.

This way we will get to know about Cricket grounds all over the world, their nature, pitches, history , best performances and performers on those grounds etc

Should be fun, but will require lot of work and research. :)
I like that:) & the players born in other countries as well:)

In fact lets run them all at once and dedicate them to great players like Lillee & Richards. That should annoy 'R'

It seems HDS has opened the Battle of the Commentators thread, so that's all we need for the meantime IMO.

Great idea. Someone should get on it after the current battle is done.

Battle of the brilliantly bearded bowlers and batsmen? Best beard ever displayed by a cricketer. Some top competition there - from the full on outrageous largesse of Grace, Yousuf and Anwar to the bushy mess of Inzy, Panesar to the fashionable stubble of Flintoff, Botham and Ponting.

W.G. would take that comfortably. His is arguably the most famous beard ever.

Best Team: Nominate 'typical' teams from periods/tours considered the best from all countries and take it from there:
eg. Aussies 1902, 1921, 1948, 2001, 2006/7
WIs 1984, early 90s
The Saffie team Lawry's boys toured against, and their peak 90s team
etc
etc

You'd have to nominate actual lineups though, not just a great team. For example, instead of naming the Invincibles, you'd actually have to provide a link to a Test in which they fielded their strongest team. IMO, that's how it should work.
