He is a terrible ODI batsman though, Thorpe is a much better choice.Would have thought that Michael Vaughan would have been a clear standout as the best ODI bat over a reasonable period of time not to have scored an ODI ton.
He probably has the greatest difference between no. of test centuries and ODI centuries (17 IIRC.)
Thorpe definitely the more capable batsman of the PairHe is a terrible ODI batsman though, Thorpe is a much better choice.
I watch a fair bit of cricket thank you very much and I, along with many others, consider Younis Khan a very poor ODI batsman. Take away the minnows that aren't ODI class and he averages 26.96 with just a solitary century against a pitiful bowling attack. I think my comments are well justified.Perm,
I have to wonder, how much cricket have you actually seen if you consider younis khan to be among the worst batsmen to have scored a hundred....
I dunno 'bout that! On talent, yes; but on results.... the jury's still out I'd think. On the whole McCullum thing if you're going to mention Parore (yes I know he scored a hundred) then McCullum deserves a mention. McCullum far greater batsman than Parore IMO.
Aviska is the worst player 132* i would have thought he would be rite up there in worst player to score 1The worst player.... Sean Ervine? I seem to remember him scoring a ton against Aussie with Laxman.

My nomination for worst player with a ODI hundred
Was a time when Ervine was looking right on track to be a fine batsman indeed. The worst player.... Sean Ervine? I seem to remember him scoring a ton against Aussie with Laxman.
Absolutely. Like his friend Mohammad Yousuf in Tests, Younis has benefited more than almost anyone from the giving of ODI status to substandard sides. They make a terrible record look merely OK.I watch a fair bit of cricket thank you very much and I, along with many others, consider Younis Khan a very poor ODI batsman. Same series - the 2003\04 VB Series, where Laxman scored two centuries, one against Australia, one against Zimbabwe, and Ervine scored one, against India.Macka - Ervine played with Laxman?![]()
nah Gillespie...The worst player to score a test 100 would be Agarkar right?
my bad ... didn't have read through the whole thread. For perhaps the 4th time... only Tests against Test-standard teams are under consideration.
