O'Reilly comfortably takes one spot. For me the other spot was harder to choose and could have gone to either Grimmett or Lohmann. I eventually decided to give my vote to Lohmann but either would make great additions to the team

If ever there was a bowler whose stats completely fail to do him justice, it was Larwood. One has to just read accounts of his bowling by all his contemporaries and thats clear. I have always found that most modern fans tend to discount this great bowler's merits purely on the basis of his stats.

Lar wood and Reily. Larwood was a great bowler the master of the bouncer and also good at getting men out. As for Reily he was the Warne of Yesteryear.

Well, I would like to vote O'Reilly and Larwood but I think I will wait until the all-rounder poll is completed - in which case, if things stay as they are, I would vote for Lohmann and Rhodes.

Did Maurice Tate not make the cut?

(Non selection in the 1919 - 1939 side maybe? Oh man...)

I would have voted him in over anyone on this list bar O'Reilly.

What he said.

Yes and so was WG Grace. Just imagine a test batting average barely above 32 and even in first class cricket a batting average below 40. Champion indeed . Hah. Navjot Siddhu is better.
Numbers aren't everything, and I don't think the numbers are the reason that WG Grace was called the father of cricket either.
