After their Plan A fell through spectacularly, they've made a somewhat nice recovery. I was sure the Mavs were a lock for a lottery pick next year. Now, they have the potential to be a middle of the pack team and they haven't given away their cap flexibility.

Still think it was a horrible decision to basically forfeit last season for merely a chance at DWill.

Lol at the Lin hate. Kind of a weird dynamic really. Players get traded like baseball cards with little or no say in the matter then get grief when they actually have an opportunity to make a decision in their own interest.

Yeah the Lin hate is mostly driven by Knicks fans and amplified by ESPN. Dolan is apparently pissed at him for saying that he was disappointed NY didn't offer him anything first. Really? You're pissed at the guy for asking for some loyalty? And how much money did you make off his popularity? Right then.

Yes, he will be overpaid now if you only consider what happens on the court, but when you include his marketability in to the equation, the offer makes sense. Houston has had a taste of the Asian market and they obviously want more. Even thought that level of popularity won't be there since it is Houston after all and not NY, the Rockets will still make back that $25 million in less than 2 years.

What's more puzzling actually is the offer they made to Asik...

And they've gone and traded Courtney Lee to the Celtics for a draft pick and some back up players.

Lee wants a lot of money, and seeing as how Houston is all about the numbers lately, I can see why they're letting him go.

The earliest I had heard was that he might be back a bit after the all-star break. I didn't think anybody realistically thought he would be back way before that. Hell, I'm expecting him to miss the whole year.

If the Bulls are smart they'll sit him for the season. They won't, however, cause Reinsdorf is an utter cheapskate and will be putting pressure on to make the playoffs and they'll probably rush him back.

Yeah this has been my worry since day 1. All these articles about how he's coming along faster than expected scare the **** out of me.
