Anyway had a crack at picking a team that would be almost under the cap. Wanted to go for a clever halfback, creative hooker, strong fullback, some workhorses in the pack as well as some ball players and backs that are natural tryscorers and some decent defenders. Think this would be a solid team.

    Quietly confident it isn't actually.

Assuming players from the past 5 years or so:

    Minichello
    Hayne
    Gasnier
    Fittler
    Tiquiri
    Lockyer
    Johns
    Menzies
    SBW
    Mason
    Price
    Buderus
    Webke
Res: Petro; Cameron Smith; Inglis; Fui Fui Moi Moi.

Given half of them are retired and therefore not being paid ATM, that team will make it under the cap easily.

Honestly, **** the salary cap for this thread. There's no way we can estimate player values.

Sanga isn't the best off spinner in the history of cricket? News to me.

How would you know? Got inside gossip as to how much each of those players are worth to the club?

Aside from that, he's only named 17 players, which is a little different from the 25 odd that clubs usually try and fit under the cap.

Yep exactly. For that reason it's hard to tell if the Kangaroos would be under the cap or over.

    15 Corey Patterson
So dire spelling both his first and last name wrong.

Cory Paterson is a very good player.
