Fielden was absolutely fantastic. Some of the Tigers had no idea. However, I was disapointed at the two line ups. Nowhere near the Tigers best team and going by the commentators neither was Bradford's. It was great to get a taste of league, can't wait for the NRL season opener in early March.

I've always wondered how big of a deal the World Club Challenge is in England?

It's not very popular here in Australia, probably due to time of year, the fact Aussie teams usually lose, and the team's sent are never 100%.

It's not a huge deal, but I'd guess we make more of it over here because we have to grab hold of any success we get over antipodean RL with both hands!

IIRC the next WCC is going to be held down under; it'll be interesting to see how our champs go down there. I guess home advantage is going to make a massive difference, especially considering the diff conditions we play in.

Wow, that would be interesting. Don't know when it would be played, it's still very warm in March when the NRL starts so I can't imagine them playing in early February.

Well, it's not really a big deal at all. Go south of Sheffield and most people equate rugby with the 15-a-side version, and not the 'game of champions'.

Those of us who are RL fans will look upon it as just redressing the balance a teeny bit for one day a year, given the fact that we really don't stand a chance at international level against you guys. Occasionally the World Club Challenge does bring British success though (especially because we can field a few Aussies, of course).

Eh? Last year we beat NZ once & lost to you twice. In 2004 we topped the group, but you tore us a new one in the final. 40-4 from memory?!

    That was sarcasm?

Anyway, I thought Bradford played well and it was pretty much Wests best team (I don't know what Burky is talking about).

Sure Marshall was missing and he was a huge loss, but the backline was otherwise the best they have got as was the forward pack (There might have been 1 or 2 players missing).

Wests with Marshall are a completely different side so I guess if he had have been fit we might have seen a closer score line. The Tigers really didn't capture anything close to their finals form from last year.

My theory on the Tigers is that they are a very good team, but Prince and Marshall are what made them premiers. It's a case of some pretty good players playing around a freak and a very good organiser. The only other player capable of acts of brilliance are Hodgson, while the other top teams have quite a few players in different positions who can do this.

But that's just my opinion and I'm sure you won't agree Blaze

I can't see Wests winning the title again this year...and they'll struggle to do it again in awhile if Scott Prince moves on.

People who do not know the depth of the juniors will say that.. However there is a young guy in reggies who has very high expectations on him and if prince goes he will most likely step up...

People have to remember that the aussie sides have played 0-1 games before they go over there, whilst the ESL starts next weekend... The NRL is still over a month away.. Trials havent even started....

The WCC was meant to be in Australia this year, however the ARL knocked it on the head because they know it would not attract the interest here in the middle of summer...

On the Tigers, i was dissapointed with the selected team, the best player in our only trial was not selected(Keith Galloway) whilst we seem to have changed the way our lineup was last year.. We always had a back on the bench, this time we went with size, we needed to run bradford around, however in saying this our guys are still a way off peak fitness...

Dont write us off in '06
